1. What Is Orbiter Finance?

Orbiter Finance is interoperability infrastructure for multi-chain and Rollup environments. It initially gained attention as a cross-Rollup asset bridging tool and later expanded into a general-purpose cross-chain protocol and Omni Account Abstraction. Its goal is to reduce liquidity fragmentation between networks, enabling users and applications to transfer assets and execute unified operations across a multi-chain environment.

2. How Does Orbiter Finance Work?

In the early bridging model, users transferred assets to a market maker's address on the source network. Then, the market maker completed the corresponding payment on the destination network, and margin and arbitration mechanisms handled exceptions. The subsequent architecture introduced zero-knowledge proofs and general-purpose cross-chain message verification to reduce reliance on the credit of a single market maker. Omni Account Abstraction consolidates accounts and operations across multiple networks into a unified interaction experience. OBT is used for protocol governance, staking, and community incentives.

3. Who Founded Orbiter Finance?

Orbiter Finance was launched in 2021 by a group of cross-chain and smart contract developers. Current official materials do not consistently disclose a verifiable, complete list of founders' real names, legal entities, or management team. In November 2022, Orbiter Finance closed a USD 3.2 million seed round at a USD 40 million valuation. In March 2023, it completed a Series A round of an undisclosed amount.

4. OBT Tokenomics

OBT has a total supply of 10 billion tokens, allocated as follows: Community 40%, Ecosystem & Growth 20%, Orbiter Foundation 15%, Team & Contributors 15%, and Investors 10%. The circulating supply at token generation was 28%. The community allocation includes an initial user airdrop and subsequent incentives. The foundation, ecosystem, team, and investor allocations follow different lockup and linear-release arrangements. OBT is used for governance, staking, and ecosystem incentives, with any additional uses subject to governance and official updates.

5. Timeline of Key Milestones

April 2021: Orbiter Finance launches.

2022: The Alpha version of the bridging product goes live.

2023–2024: Support is expanded to additional networks, and general-purpose cross-chain and zero-knowledge verification architectures are researched.

January 20, 2025: The OBT token is generated and community distribution begins.

Early 2025: In its TGE materials, the team plans to open on-chain governance in February 2025; to date, official sources have not confirmed that on-chain governance is fully live.

2025–2026: Development continues on the general-purpose cross-chain protocol, Omni Account Abstraction, and multi-chain application access.
