What is OM?
At its core, MANTRA is a vertically integrated blockchain ecosystem encompassing a multitude of components that work together toward a shared vision. Each segment has distinctive roles that contribute to the overall functionality and objectives of the project.
Components of MANTRA:
MANTRA Nodes: This element provides a crucial infrastructure-as-a-service, enabling the growth of the ecosystem. It not only generates revenue but also enhances MANTRA's presence across emerging blockchain networks.
MANTRA Chain: A purpose-built Layer 1 blockchain dedicated to facilitating the tokenization of real-world assets. Unlike other blockchains, MANTRA Chain is designed to adhere to regulatory requirements, ensuring that assets such as art, commodities, and real estate can be tokenized in a compliant manner.
MANTRA Finance: This segment operates as a DeFi platform, merging the efficiency and transparency associated with DeFi protocols and traditional finance. Through MANTRA Finance, users can trade, issue, and earn from digital assets in a non-custodial and permissionless environment.
MANTRA DAO: The governance aspect of the ecosystem, MANTRA DAO emphasizes community involvement and transparency. Users are granted the power to propose changes, participate in votes, and significantly influence the development of various products within what is termed the OMniverse.

Mantra CEO John Patrick Mullin has urged users to withdraw their OM tokens from the OKX exchange, accusing the platform of posting an "inaccurate" migration plan. Mullin claims OKX provided incorrect dates and details about the upcoming token migration from an Ethereum-based ERC-20 token to a native Mantra Chain token. He stated that OKX has not communicated with Mantra since April 13, when the OM token crashed over 90%, an event Mantra attributed to aggressive exchange leverage policies. Mullin advised users to avoid relying on OKX and complete the migration independently. The official migration is set to occur after January 15, contrary to OKX’s announced December timeline.
Mantra's OM token crashed over 99% in 2025, leading to a public dispute between the project team and crypto exchange OKX. OKX accused the Mantra team of borrowing significant USDT and using OM as collateral to artificially inflate the token’s price, prompting the exchange to freeze accounts and liquidate holdings. The exchange questioned the origin of large OM quantities and dismissed the team's claims as misleading.
Mantra CEO JP Mullin denied any legal action against OKX, stating the issue is between the exchange and larger OM traders. Despite earlier gains of 600% during the late 2024 rally, OM’s value plummeted following the controversy. As of press time, OM traded at $0.07 amid bearish sentiment. The project is proceeding with its planned migration to a Layer 1 blockchain, converting OM to MANTRA by January 2026, with over 36,000 holders still involved.
