2. How Does Pippin Work?

Pippin's early core loop consisted of activity selection, asynchronous execution, memory writing, and state updates. The model selects activities based on energy, mood, experience points, historical memory, and probability constraints. Once an activity is complete, it writes the result to an SQLite memory system, then updates the state and influences the next round of decisions. The general-purpose Pippin Framework described on the current website further adds character definitions, toggleable Skills, dynamic activity generation, and the merging of short-term and long-term memory. A 2024 blog post publicly disclosed the Pippin prototype's core loop. The current Framework page indicates that the general-purpose Pippin Framework codebase is still under development and has not yet been fully open-sourced.

3. Who Founded Pippin?

Pippin was initiated by investor and developer Yohei Nakajima. Nakajima is also the creator of BabyAGI, an autonomous agent project. After posting an AI-generated unicorn image, he saw the community independently issue a namesake meme token. Subsequently, he purchased the token and decided to continue developing the character as an AI influencer and open-ended community IP.
