Security-first roadmap strengthens Ethereum’s institutional case

Ethereum’s undervaluation continues to support the bullish case for ETH accumulation.

When comparing Ethereum’s Q1 network adoption with its price performance, the divergence becomes harder to overlook. As AMBCrypto noted, despite ongoing macro FUD, Ethereum recorded 200 million transactions in Q1, marking the network’s busiest quarter on record. At the same time, ETH underwent a 30% correction, suggesting a growing mismatch between fundamentals and market pricing.

In essence, the impact of the 2025 upgrades hasn’t fully reflected in ETH’s price yet. However, institutional confidence continues to strengthen. Ethereum’s staking participation has reached another all-time high at 32.04%, with nearly 39 million ETH now staked.

Meanwhile, BitMine added 101,627 ETH in the past week, its fastest accumulation since December, reinforcing the ongoing institutional accumulation trend.

The End of the Regulatory Patchwork: What MiCA Means for Every Company Eyeing the European Marke

Many assume MiCA doesn't apply if a company is incorporated outside the EU — in Singapore, Hong Kong, or Canada. That's a dangerous mistake.

December 2024 marked a turning point for European crypto markets. Before that, each of the EU's 27 member countries maintained its own approach to regulating crypto assets — creating a compliance nightmare for companies operating across borders: overlapping legal costs, fragmented frameworks, and endless national adaptations.

MiCA — the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation — ended all of that. The EU now operates under a single, unified rulebook. A license obtained in one member state opens the door to all 27. For any business thinking seriously about Europe, this is a fundamental shift in market entry logic.

Where most founders get it wrong

MiCA follows the service, not the company. It doesn't matter where your servers are, where your team sits, or where your legal entity was formed.

If your product is accessible in the EU — if a user in Germany or France can open an account and use your crypto service — you are already operating in the European market. And MiCA already applies to you.

Targeted advertising and content directed at EU audiences alone can trigger licensing obligations.

That leaves companies with exactly two options: obtain a CASP license in an EU member state, or close your product to European users entirely. The second path is technically feasible. It also means voluntarily walking away from a market of roughly 450 million people.

Another Key Asset For Institutions Is Ethereum
Vivek Raman, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Etherealize, has placed Ethereum on the same level as Bitcoin, the largest crypto asset, on the institutional stage. Raman argues that ETH is on track to become a core holding in institutional portfolios, positioning it as a foundational layer for the next generation of financial infrastructure.

According to the CEO, institutional allocations to ETH are inevitable as the asset grows, drawing attention to the University of Harvard’s shift from Bitcoin Spot ETFs to Ethereum Spot ETFs. ETH is being backed by its proof of stake, which is capable of generating massive yields. As Raman believes, these factors, which allow ETH to become the next store of value, are key drivers for price appreciation for the asset.

In the interview, the CEO also talked about the substantial growth of tokenized assets and stablecoins on the Ethereum network. He argues that most highly valued tokenized assets and stablecoins are going to be launched on the network.

Typically, both these assets are rooted in real-world trust assumptions with off-chain records, and ETH is the leading network to build on because it is not linked to off-chain operations. “You need a neutral asset where the United States can trade with anyone, and ETH is that asset,” Raman stated. This makes Ethereum more valuable as tokenized assets on the blockchain grow.
