Ahead of a critical governance vote that might drastically alter the network's economic model, Flare's native token, $FLR, is seeing a surge in momentum. Flare unveiled a new governance proposal this week that would drastically alter its network architecture, provide a revenue system at the protocol level, and lower token inflation.

With trade activity increasing as market players position ahead of the April 16-April 24 voting timeframe, the token has increased by around 10.2% over the last week to about $0.0082. Growing interest in a proposal that combines aggressive tokenomic modifications with structural changes to block creation is reflected in the price response.

Investors seem to be accounting for the possible effects of lower inflation, higher token burns, and a new protocol-level value capture method. Network reconfiguration and MEV capture Fundamental changes to Flare's block creation and MEV processes are at the heart of the proposal.

The network intends to internalize this revenue stream and reroute it back into the ecosystem rather than leaving MEV extraction to outside parties. There would be three phases to the transformation. In order to preserve network stability, block creation would first shift from individual validators to a designated builder run by the Flare Entity.

The procedure switches to Flare Confidential Compute at the second stage, allowing for public auditability while maintaining transaction privacy. In the last phase, the responsibilities of proposer and builder are combined, and validators take on a verification-focused role.

The goal of this redesign is to increase transaction ordering efficiency while guaranteeing that value created by MEV is recorded at the protocol level rather than by a select few players.

Peter Schiff raises concerns over MicroStrategy’s Bitcoin funding strategy



Peter Schiff, a well-known Bitcoin critic and gold advocate, has raised concerns about MicroStrategy’s ongoing Bitcoin acquisition strategy.

The company has continued to expand its holdings through a mix of debt and equity issuance.

Schiff stated that MicroStrategy’s approach is becoming harder to sustain under current market conditions. He said “the company is shifting toward more expensive capital” while referencing recent financing changes linked to preferred shares.

He added that earlier funding methods, which included issuing shares at higher valuations, are becoming less effective in the present environment.

Shift toward high-yield preferred shares

MicroStrategy has recently relied more on preferred share offerings with higher yield obligations. Schiff noted that the company is now issuing instruments with yields around 11.5 percent.

He said ”these obligations cannot be covered by software earnings alone” when describing the firm’s financial position. The company’s core software business has limited profit contribution compared to its Bitcoin exposure.

Schiff stated that funding future purchases may require additional issuance of preferred shares, discounted equity, or Bitcoin sales. He argued this could increase pressure on shareholders through dilution over time.

Claims of structural risk and market reaction

Schiff described the company’s financing approach as vulnerable if market conditions weaken. He said the structure depends heavily on continued access to capital markets.

Canadian billionaire Frank Giustra also commented on the strategy, calling it ”a giant ponzi that will unravel when the next financial crisis hits” according to remarks cited in reports. He suggested that macroeconomic stress could expose weaknesses in the model.

For years, $NEO's treasury was held in a setup that would be unusual for most financial institutions: hundreds of millions of dollars in crypto assets were controlled through personal wallets, with no multisig protections and little formal oversight.

That person, according to co-founder Da Hongfei, is Erik Zhang, $NEO's other co-founder and the architect of its core protocol.

"Around 85% is controlled by Eric alone with single signature," Da said in an interview. "It had never been transferred to any individual or any multi-sig." The native $NEO and $GAS tokens Zhang holds are currently worth between $200 million and $250 million, Da estimated. That's more than $NEO's current $197 million market capitalization.

Zhang, for his part, has accused Da of separate problems. The two founders have been airing those disputes in public since December.

The fight has since produced rival governance plans and an unsuccessful mediation effort in Hong Kong.

Da published his restructuring proposal on GitHub on April 9. It calls for redomiciling the Neo Foundation from Singapore to the Cayman Islands, replacing the current two-founder governance with an independent five-member board, barring both founders from that board for 24 months, and redistributing roughly 26 million $NEO and 40 million $GAS to tokenholders.

Zhang's counter-proposal called staying on the board keeping the Foundation in Singapore, not move it to the Cayman Islands.

Most pointedly, Zhang's proposal calls for a formal investigation into historical asset management, including provisions to address potential corruption, improper asset transfers, and concealment of public assets.

In the latest bond news, Henry Paulson, who steered the U.S. financial system through the 2008 collapse as Treasury Secretary, is warning that the $35 trillion U.S. debt load could trigger a Treasury bond market crash, and calling for an emergency “break-glass” contingency plan to be ready before it hits.

ETH recently climbed from the $2,220 support zone and briefly touched a local high near $2,417 before entering a mild correction phase. Despite the pullback, the asset has remained stable above $2,320 and continues to trade above its 100-hour simple moving average, signaling that bullish momentum is still intact.
Market structure on the hourly chart shows a contracting triangle forming, with key resistance concentrated around $2,380. This level is now seen as a critical breakout point for the next move higher.
If buyers manage to push ETH decisively above $2,380, the next resistance targets are expected at $2,400 and $2,440. A sustained breakout beyond that range could open the path toward $2,500 and potentially $2,550 in the near term.
On the downside, failure to break above resistance may trigger a short-term pullback. Initial support lies near $2,330, followed by stronger support around $2,295. A break below these levels could expose ETH to further downside toward $2,265 and the $2,200 zone.

Washington isn't trying to solve every crypto policy fight at once, but it appears to be carving out a workable path for one specific category of digital asset: the regulated, dollar-pegged stablecoin.

The GENIUS Act established the first federal regulatory framework for payment stablecoins, and a bipartisan House tax discussion draft now proposes friendlier tax treatment for those same tokens when people actually use them.

Together, the two efforts point toward a deliberate, stablecoins-first lane in American crypto policy that could reshape how users, merchants, and issuers interact with digital dollars in the years ahead.

What the stablecoin tax draft actually proposes
The draft legislation is the Digital Asset PARITY Act, a bipartisan discussion draft first released in December 2025 by Representatives Max Miller (R-Ohio) and Steven Horsford (D-Nevada), both members of the House Ways and Means Committee. An updated version was re-released on March 26, 2026, with significant revisions to its core stablecoin provision.

In the revised March draft, gains from selling a “regulated payment stablecoin” generally wouldn't be included in gross income, and losses wouldn't be recognized, unless the taxpayer's basis in the token falls below 99% of its redemption value.

For exchanges, the recipient would take a deemed basis of $1. To qualify, the stablecoin must be issued by a permitted payment stablecoin issuer under the GENIUS Act, pegged only to the US dollar, and have demonstrated tight price stability over the prior 12 months. Brokers and dealers are excluded.

For ordinary people, this means spending a qualifying dollar stablecoin could stop triggering a small, irritating tax event every time the token's value drifts a fraction of a cent.
