Sony's PlayStation Portal Handheld Device to Stream PS5 Games via Wi-Fi Connection

Sony has announced that the PlayStation Portal, a handheld device that allows users to play PlayStation 5 games via a Wi-Fi connection to the console, will be released later this year at a price of $199.99. Unlike previous PlayStation handhelds, the PSP and PlayStation Vita, the Portal requires users to own a PlayStation 5 console and wirelessly streams gameplay from the console over a Wi-Fi connection. It is a companion device designed to make it easier to play high-end PS5 games from anywhere with a strong enough internet connection, but users will only be able to use it for games they own and cannot stream games via Sony's PlayStation Plus cloud streaming feature.
