false news about the death of 14-year-old internet celebrity and rapper Lil Tay has led to the emergence of an unofficial encrypted token called "LilTay" on the BNB chain. The token's release coincides with former manager Harry Tsang's development of an Ethereum-based "Liltay token". The supply of LilTay tokens on the BNB chain version is limited to just over 100 tokens and has not yet been traded. Although there are different speculations about the team behind the token, some believe that opportunistic cryptocurrency enthusiasts may be trying to take advantage of media hype surrounding the so-called death or paying tribute to this young influencer. At the same time, Tsang claims that the upcoming Ethereum token has nothing to do with the BNB chain version. It is currently unclear whether Lil Tay herself is involved in the Ethereum token. However, the project's Twitter account has been sharing development updates for months before the fake death scandal. Last week, Lil Tay (real name Tay Tien) official Instagram account posted a message claiming that she and her brother had passed away, which has since been deleted. She later released a statement to TMZ clarifying that she and her brother are still alive and well and attributing the misinformation to a third-party intrusion into her Instagram account.
