US lawmakers' new proposal calls for clear definition of "broker" in 2021 infrastructure law

08/04 01:28

Backed by U.S. Senators Pat Toomey, Mark Warner, Cynthia Lummis, Kyrsten Sinema, and Rob Portman, among others, several bipartisan lawmakers have introduced new bills to clarify "brokers" in the 2021 infrastructure law By definition, the bill would exclude miners, wallet providers, network validators and other organizations that may not have the required tax filing information. The new bill is similar to the Wyden-Toomey-Lummis amendment proposed last year, when the Senate was considering the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, but the Wyden-Toomey-Lummis amendment ultimately failed.
