U.S. Trade Representative Signals Imminent New Tariff Policy

On July 22, U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer hinted in a media interview on the 21st that the federal government will soon introduce a new tariff policy to replace the expiring 10% global import tariff. Greer said he cannot provide a specific timeline for the announcement of the new tariff policy at this time, and that it will need to be communicated to Congress and other stakeholders before formal announcement.
