U.S. Lifts Maritime Blockade on Iran

On June 19, the U.S. Central Command issued a statement on social media stating, "Today, the U.S. military, following President Trump's directive, has lifted the blockade on all maritime traffic to and from Iranian ports and coastal areas. The U.S. military is no longer obstructing vessels traveling to and from Iranian ports in the Arabian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. All U.S. military blockade operations have ceased. U.S. naval vessels will remain in the region to ensure that all aspects of the agreement (U.S.-Iran Memorandum of Understanding) are adhered to, enforced, and fully effective."
