Amanda Tuminelli, Chief Legal Officer of the DeFi Education Fund, posted on the X platform stating that the U.S. Department of Justice has decided to retry the case of Tornado Cash developer Roman Storm in the fall. Although the first trial failed to convince the jury, despite obvious mistakes—such as subpoenaing irrelevant witnesses, lacking forensic analysis of their own blockchain evidence, and having multiple legal and logical flaws when accusing third-party developers—the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York (SDNY) will still retry Roman Storm on counts 1 and 3 of the indictment.
