Hashdex plans to put some of the crypto held by its Nasdaq CME Crypto Index ETF (NCIQ) to work through staking. The sponsor takes the first slice of net income, while common shareholders begin sharing in the rewards after an annual threshold is cleared.

The framework is prospective. A July 23 Form 8-K named Coinbase Cloud as the initial provider and said staking was expected to begin promptly, subject to operational readiness.

Under the July 23 prospectus supplement, a staking provider first retains its portion of gross rewards. Hashdex then receives all remaining net staking income up to a dollar threshold equal to 0.25% of common-share net asset value through one Sponsor Share, a separate unlisted class held exclusively by Hashdex. Income above that threshold is split 40% to Hashdex and 60% to the trust for holders of publicly traded NCIQ common shares.

The threshold is measured over each fiscal year and prorated for a partial year. If net staking income stays at or below it, none is allocated to the trust for common shareholders' benefit.

For illustration, if net staking income reached 1% of common-share NAV after provider fees over a full year, the trust would receive 0.45% for common shareholders. Hashdex would collect the remaining 0.55%, comprising the first 0.25% and 40% of the next 0.75 percentage point. The figures are illustrative rather than a forecast or realized return.

Every push higher from here requires fresh buyers willing to pay increasingly expensive prices. In a Fear-dominated market, that pool of buyers thins quickly.

The daily MACD, price levels, EMA readings, Bollinger Bands, ATR, and pivot points do not carry usable numerical values in the current dataset. The RSI at 77.27 therefore stands as the clearest signal the daily chart is offering. When a daily RSI pushes toward 80 without a clear fundamental catalyst, the probability of mean reversion rises meaningfully. Traders who bought the move have profit to protect. Those eyeing fresh longs here face an unfavorable risk/reward setup on the higher timeframe.

Hawkesbury Brewing Co claims to be the first brewery in the world to produce hot water for its brewing process using an integrated Bitcoin mine powered by rooftop solar. The NSW Central Coast business has submerged 16 $BTC miners in a tub of non-conductive liquid that heats to around 90 degrees Celsius. A heat exchanger then transfers that thermal energy into the brewery's incoming town water supply, according to ABC News.

A Practical Fix for a Real Business Problem

The idea came from necessity. Owner Mr. Neale began exploring Bitcoin mining to avoid the fees charged for sending excess solar energy back into the grid. "It'd be nice to give it back to the grid and get paid handsomely for it but it doesn't happen," he said, "so we need to be able to use that power to then power the factory for the rest of the day."

Over $200 million was liquidated from the cryptocurrency market in the last 24 hours, with $160 million in bearish short positions erased, according to Coinglass data.

Bitcoin’s open interest fell 1.75% over the last 24 hours. A decrease in open interest alongside an increase in spot price typically indicates short covering, signaling that short sellers are buying back contracts to exit positions.

That said, "Fear" sentiment prevailed in the market, according to the Crypto Fear & Greed Index.
