Last Monday began with a somewhat expected leg down that drove bitcoin south from $65,000 to $63,750. However, the asset reacted well, defended that support level, and jumped by two grand by the end of the day. Tuesday was even better in terms of gains, as the cryptocurrency jumped to roughly $67,000 on some exchanges to mark a monthly high.

After gaining over $3,000 in just over 24 hours, BTC was primed for a correction given the overall market landscape. It started to lose value gradually and dropped below $65,000 on Thursday. It initiated another breakout attempt on Friday, but it was stopped at $65,750. The subsequent rejection drove it south by $2,000.

The bulls finally intervened and didn’t allow another leg down. Instead, BTC showed some resilience around that level and remained at around $64,000 on Saturday and climbed to $64,500 later that day after Trump ordered the US military to stand down while waiting for the resumed talks between Iran and Oman.BTC Defends $64K

For now, BTC stands above $64,000, with its market cap returning to $1.290 trillion on CG. Its dominance over the alts has risen to almost 57%.

The $25 million Bitcoin glitch hiding inside Wall Street’s clearinghouses



Two Wall Street trading desks can hold economically similar exposure to Bitcoin and still pay materially different amounts to keep that exposure open. That's not because one desk made a better market call, but because the regulated products carrying the positions are inside collateral systems that don't always recognize them as parts of the same hedge.

One desk can reconstruct a forward Bitcoin position from matching calls and puts on BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT), while another can obtain comparable price exposure through a cash-settled CME Bitcoin futures contract with a similar maturity.

While the economic risk is closely related, the financing cost isn't.

Trading at $1.10, according to CoinCodex, XRP has so far held above this critical level as buyers continue absorbing mounting selling pressure.

Despite that defense, the short-term technical outlook remains fragile. On the four-hour chart, XRP is still trading below a cluster of key moving averages between $1.11 and $1.12, signaling that bears remain in control. The top altcoin has also broken below its previous triangle support, weakening the market structure and increasing the need for bulls to reclaim higher levels quickly.

Bitcoin ETF Inflows Near $1B as Security Group Forms

Bitcoin ETF inflows approached $1 billion across seven trading sessions before reversing on July 23. You can see why the simultaneous launch of a $15 million security group strengthens Bitcoin's institutional infrastructure without confirming a lasting price recovery.

Bitcoin ETFs drew roughly $999 million across seven positive sessions through July 22.

A $22.6 million outflow on July 23 ended the streak.

Nine firms pledged $15 million for Bitcoin security work over three years.

ETF investors supply fund inflows, while issuers provide access and infrastructure.

The two developments operate on different timelines and should not be treated as one bullish trade.

Bitcoin ETF inflows reached almost $1 billion across seven consecutive trading sessions through July 22, marking the longest positive run since October 2025. One day later, BlackRock, Fidelity Digital Assets and seven other firms launched a separate initiative backed by $15 million in member pledges for Bitcoin security research and open-source development.

The timing creates a broader institutional story, although the two signals require different interpretations. ETF flows measure investor demand over days. Security funding addresses technical risks that may take years to resolve. Together, they show that Bitcoin’s institutional layer is expanding beyond market access into maintenance of the network on which that access depends.

They do not, however, confirm a durable market recovery. The inflow streak ended on July 23, and the new consortium has not disclosed individual contributions, initial recipients or how much of the pledged funding is new.
