Bitcoin $BTC$65,250.07, the leading cryptocurrency by market value, is back above $65,000, with prices up about 1.2% over 24 hours. Ether (ETH) has risen by over 3% to nearly $1,950 alongside 1% to 2% gains in other top 10 token, including solana (SOL) and $XRP ($XRP).

Futures tied to WTI gapped lower on Monday, trading around 5% lower at $85 as of this writing, while those linked to Nasdaq and S&P 500 traded half a percent higher. Currency markets also showed risk-on trends, with the Aussie dollar and euro gaining against the U.S. dollar.

The United States and Iran paused military strikes against each other for a second consecutive day, creating room for a diplomatic breakthrough. The war, which began in late February, entered a fragile ceasefire in the second quarter, but it quickly unraveled.

Iran reportedly said that it would continue to halt airstrikes as long as the U.S. did the same, marking a tenous start of what appears to be yet another peace process.

"Prices are also responding to macro developments," Vikram Subburaj, CEO of India-based FIU-registered Giottus exchange, said in an email.

Subburaj added that ether's over 3% gain shows some rotation into alternative cryptocurrencies, although $BTC's dominance at 58.6% shows this is not yet a broad-based altcoin trend.

Speaking on the social media platform X, Armstrong emphasized that artificial intelligence and cryptocurrencies are not competing technologies, but rather complementary infrastructures.

Armstrong stated that artificial intelligence has become one of the most important technological trends of our time, yet the value proposition of cryptocurrencies continues to strengthen. According to the Coinbase CEO, cryptocurrency technology is a kind of general-purpose infrastructure, like electricity or the internet, and will be one of the fundamental tools for AI systems to conduct financial transactions in the future.

Armstrong argued that the need for digital assets will increase, especially with the proliferation of autonomous AI agents, and stated that current financial systems are not fully adaptable to this new technology.

Armstrong stated that AI agents cannot open bank accounts or wait for international money transfers to be completed, therefore cryptocurrencies offer a significant advantage as a real-time and programmable payment system.

According to the Coinbase CEO, in the future, AI agents will not only make payments; they will also be able to independently perform numerous economic activities such as fund management, investment transactions, trading, financial advisory, and capital raising. The brutal $346M math behind Galaxy's high-stakes race to build CoreWeave's Texas Al mega-center Galaxy Digital's $3.507 billion financing for its CoreWeave>notes mature on Aug. 1, 2031.

The financing is intended to cover part of two buildings with eight data halls at the Helios campus. The facilities are planned for 400 megawatts of utility capacity and 260 MW of critical IT capacity, with some proceeds also funding debt-service reserves. The 9.875% coupon works out to $346.3 million in annual interest, paid in cash every Feb. 1 and Aug. 1 starting in 2027. The first payment covers only part of a year, but Galaxy has not disclosed the exact amount.

Repayment starts when construction ends

Principal repayment runs on a different schedule. The notes are due to amortize at 4% of original principal each year, subject to adjustment. That equals $140.28 million annually before adjustments, paid in semiannual installments, with the first payment date at least 10 months after project completion. Interest starts on a fixed schedule, while principal repayments wait until construction is complete and can be adjusted. Creditors will hold first-priority claims on nearly all project assets and the parent company's stake in the issuer.

The disclosed liens cover Galaxy Helios Data Centers II LLC, its project guarantor and the parent-held equity in the issuer. They do not extend to Galaxy Digital's assets generally.
