India’s Crypto Market Is Moving From Trading to Investing. Are HNIs Ready for the Shift?
The Indian crypto market has long been connected to active trading and short-term bets. But now, the focus is slowly shifting as more wealthy investors begin to enter the space. High-net-worth individuals (HNIs) have started seeing crypto as a long-term investment rather than a trading option.
According to BitDelta India CEO Vikaas Sachdeva, HNIs and family offices have already begun allocating small amounts into crypto. He believes that if these investors continue to embrace crypto, it could eventually turn into a bigger shift toward long-term crypto investments in India.
India’s Crypto Story May Be Entering Its Second Phase
The latest reports reveal that India’s crypto market is moving beyond its trading-only phase. BitDelta India CEO Vikaas Sachdeva stated that the country could be entering a new stage. While digital assets were largely seen as a short-term trading option, Indian traders have now started viewing them more like an investment asset.
Adding more to his points, Sachdeva compared the current stage of the crypto market in India to where mutual funds were around 1995. As HNIs have already started crypto allocations, the market is now open to grow more.
Why Trading Has Dominated India’s Crypto Market
Notably, trading has been a critical part of India’s crypto market. This is mainly because of the sharp price movements of digital assets like Bitcoin. In India, many investors have seen crypto as a trading option. They think of making profits from short-term price swings. While the focus remained on short-term gains, long-term investments were out of focus.
In addition, the lack of a familiar investment framework has also played a major role in keeping Indian crypto traders focused on short-term trading practices.

The Bitwise $XRP ETF has seen a big jump in trading activity over the past three sessions as institutional investors pay more attention to $XRP price.

Bitwise President Teddy Fusaro said more than $80 million worth of the ETF was traded in the latest session. The two sessions before that each had more than $60 million in trading volume.

Accordingly, Fusaro said trading volume has “really popped” over the past three sessions. Notably, the Bitwise president disclosed that the latest session marked the highest-volume trading day since the ETF’s launch.

Bitwise leads $XRP ETF inflows
The surge in trading activity comes as $XRP ETFs continue to attract fresh capital. SoSoValue data shows the Bitwise $XRP ETF recorded an $8.25 million inflow in the latest session. This took its cumulative net inflows to approximately $550.93 million.

Bitwise is currently the largest $XRP ETF issuer by cumulative inflows. Canary Capital follows with about $469.69 million, while Franklin Templeton has attracted approximately $438.16 million.

But market capitalization alone doesn’t show which stablecoin is used more. On-chain activity suggests $PYUSD still has the larger user base and generates more transfer volume. Meanwhile, $RLUSD shows a different pattern: fewer active addresses but high activity relative to its supply.

$RLUSD Is Smaller, But Its Supply Is Moving
As of August 24, RWA.xyz data puts $RLUSD’s market cap at about $2.02 billion, with 84,514 holders. Its monthly transfer volume stands at roughly $11.60 billion, generated through 1.28 million transfers and 7,982 active addresses.

That means $RLUSD’s monthly transfer volume is roughly 5.7 times its circulating supply. The figure is significant because it shows the $2 billion supply is not simply sitting in wallets.

$RLUSD also has a relatively high number of transfers per active address. Dividing its 1.28 million monthly transfers by 7,982 active addresses produces roughly 160 transfers per active address.

That points to a network with a relatively small active user base but frequent activity
