Tom Lee's Bitmine boosts ether holdings to 4.47 million tokens with $98 million ETH purchase

Bitmine Immersion Technologies (BMNR) on Monday reported purchasing nearly 51,000 more $ETH tokens last week, increasing its holdings to 4.474 million.

"In the midst of this 'mini crypto winter,' our focus continues to be on methodically executing our treasury strategy and steadily acquiring $ETH and in turn, optimizing the yield on our $ETH holdings," said Chairman Tom Lee.

The company said it now has 3,040,483 $ETH staked, worth about $6 billion at current prices. Lee said annualized staking revenue stands at $172 million. At full scale, staking rewards could reach $253 million annually based on a 2.86% yield over the last seven days, Lee continued.

The company holds 4,473,587 ether ($ETH), valued at $1,976 per token, along with 195 bitcoin and $868 million in cash, as well as a $200 million stake in Beast Industries and a $14 million investment in Eightco Holdings. Bitmine said its ether position represents 3.71% of Ethereum’s 120.7 million token supply.

Lee added that the firm is developing its Made in America Validator Network, or MAVAN, a staking platform slated for launch in early 2026. Bitmine said it is working with three staking providers as it builds the network.

Foom Cash, a decentralized, anonymous lottery protocol based on zero-knowledge proofs, was exploited for $2.26 million of funds on Friday.

However, the intervention of an ethical hacker helped the protocol recover $1.84 million, or 81% of the stolen funds, Foom Cash announced on Monday.

Pseudonymous white hat hacker, Duha, has triggered and ”identified the vulnerability and moved to secure the funds on Base before malicious actors could strike, while @DecurityHQ handled the rescue operation on Ethereum,” wrote the protocol in a Monday X post.

Bitmine lifts ether treasury to 4.47 million ETH as total holdings near $10 billion

Bitmine said it held 4,473,587 ETH, or 3.71% of the 120.7 million supply as of March 1, with total crypto, cash, and equity stakes valued at $9.9 billion.

The company reported 3,040,483 ETH currently staked, generating $172 million in annualized revenue at a 2.86% 7-day yield.
Bitmine Immersion Technologies (BMNR) increased its Ethereum treasury to 4.47 million tokens as of March 1, giving the Las Vegas-based firm control of 3.71% of the total ether supply, the company said Monday.

At $1,976 per ETH, the company’s ether holdings are valued at approximately $8.8 billion, ranking it as the largest corporate Ethereum treasury globally and the second-largest corporate crypto treasury overall, trailing only Strategy's $47 billion bitcoin position, according to a statement.

The latest figure marks an increase of 50,928 ETH in the past week and places the company within 27% of its stated goal of acquiring 5% of the total ether supply. The accumulation occurred during what Chairman Tom Lee termed a "mini crypto winter."

"Bitmine has been buying Ethereum, as we view this pullback as attractive, given the strengthening fundamentals," Lee said in the statement. "In our view, the price of ETH is not reflective of the high utility of ETH and its role as the future of finance."

Lee warned that geopolitical uncertainty has risen in recent days, citing the commencement of U.S. combat operations against Iran, and said the impact on financial and digital asset markets will be felt in the coming weeks.

Ether traded at $1,935 on Monday, according to The Block's price page. The token remains below its August 2025 all-time high of $4,946.
