This calculation stems from comparing the current market value against the probable higher entry point from early 2024. The US Securities and Exchange Commission has filed a lawsuit against crypto executive Donald Basile, accusing him and two companies he controlled of raising about $16 million from investors through false claims tied to a so-called "insured" crypto token known as Bitcoin Latinum.

In a complaint filed Friday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of New York, the SEC alleged that Basile ran the scheme between March and December 2021 through Monsoon Blockchain Corp. and GIBF GP Inc., offering investors Simple Agreements for Future Tokens (SAFTs) that promised future delivery of the token, according to a report from The Wall Street Journal.

Regulators said hundreds of investors were told the asset was backed and insured, but the SEC alleged no insurance company ever provided coverage or any proof that these claims were true, per the report.

Crypto market expert Merlijn The Trader has presented a market structure model on X, showing that Bitcoin's recent price action is unfolding in line with an institutional trading cycle. The chart framework, known as the MarketMaker Buy Model, argues that large institutional players move markets in predictable stages designed to transfer Bitcoin from emotional retail traders into stronger, long-term holders before pushing prices significantly higher.

According to the analyst, the first stage of the cycle, highlighted in the first green box on the chart, began with a "Distribution" phase that occurred between about $100,000 and $120,000 in mid-2024. During this period, Bitcoin traded in a choppy downward pattern.

During today’s Asian trading session, Uniswap’s price opened at $3.49. This price did not hold for long, as a dip followed, reducing the weekly gains. This movement has raised questions about the potential price targets that will follow next.

Uniswap Price Slips to $3.39

According to CoinMarketCap data at the time of press, Uniswap price traded at $3.39, recording a 1.1% decline over the past 24 hours. Price started near the $3.44 area and slipped briefly before recovering into a stronger upward stretch. That rebound carried $UNI above $3.50 and later pushed it toward the session high near $3.57.

After reaching that peak, the upward move lost strength, and the Uniswap-3.13% price began to ease lower. $UNI then moved through a gradual decline, with repeated lower highs forming across the middle part of the session. The price later settled around the $3.45 zone and traded in a tighter range for several hours.

That stability did not hold into the final stretch. $UNI fell again and moved below the earlier consolidation band, ending near the session’s lower area. The latest decline pulled the price under $3.40 as weakness returned late in the period. Market capitalization stood at $2.16 billion, while 24-hour volume reached $248.72 million. Uniswap price recorded an early rebound, a mid-session fade, and a sharper late pullback.
