Aster, a trading ecosystem backed by YZi Labs, today announced a major expansion of its collaboration with World Liberty Financial (WLFI).

The collaboration introduces USD1-denominated perpetual contracts and new trading incentives, including WLFI token rewards and reduced fees on USD1 pairs, while also allowing users to earn additional rewards on their holdings.

The integration is intended to support USD1 liquidity on the platform, laying the groundwork for Aster Chain, the project's newly-launched Layer 1 blockchain.

Building a Diverse Foundation for Aster Chain

Adding USD1 as collateral and USD1-denominated perpetual markets reduce Aster's reliance on any single stablecoin, giving users greater flexibility as the Aster Chain launches.

WLFI's global community helps support Aster’s efforts to expand access to USD1 markets within DeFi.

ECB seeks experts to help integrate digital euro into ATMs, card payment terminals The European Central Bank (ECB) said it is looking for experts to help draft rules about how a digital euro would work in everyday payments in anticipation of legislation approving a central bank digital currency (CBDC) and a decision by the bank's governing council to issue one. The ECB opened applications for experts to help draft parts of the digital euro rulebook relating specifically to ATMs and card payment terminals used in stores, it said Thursday. ECB President Christine Lagarde said in December the bank had completed its technical and preparatory work on the digital currency and it was now up to political institutions to act. The project, which aims to create a public digital means of payment, is under review by the European Council and the European Parliament. If approved, the central bank has signaled a potential rollout by 2029. One workstream will define how ATMs and point-of-sale terminals process digital euro payments. This includes how devices connect, how they support offline transactions and how current payment standards can support the new currency. NVIDIA (NVDA) shares fell 1.37% to $177.93 on March 19, dragging semiconductor stocks lower despite Jensen Huang’s bullish GTC keynote just days earlier.

The selloff follows Micron Technology’s (MU) after-hours drop and surging oil prices tied to the escalating Iran war, adding fresh headwinds to a chip sector already struggling with “sell the news” fatigue.

Semiconductors Break Their Pattern

CNBC’s Mad Money host Jim Cramer noted that NVIDIA’s price action on March 19 broke a persistent pattern where the stock would open higher only to reverse lower throughout the session. This time, it opened red from the start and kept falling.

“Nvidia breaking the pattern of opening up and then reversing and going down. Today it went down from the get go and then goes lower…. could it be the opposite today?” Jim Cramer observed.

Cramer described the semiconductor sector as “very oversold,” suggesting traders should expect attempts to test the moving average “at least once or twice.”
