Privacy Narrative Making a Comeback? Monero ($XMR) has gained over 11% this week, making it one of the best-performing tokens in the crypto market. The rally has pushed the $XMR price back toward the $375-$380 resistance zone after weeks of steady accumulation. Rising market participation has strengthened the recovery, while renewed discussions around privacy-focused cryptocurrencies have added to the bullish narrative. The key question now is whether buyers can force a breakout or face another rejection at this

long-standing resistance.

Monero Price Analysis: Breakout or Another Rejection?

Monero has extended its recovery after forming a series of higher lows throughout July, bringing the token back to the $375-$380 resistance zone. This area has capped every major rally since February, making it the most important level for bulls to reclaim. A decisive daily close above this supply zone could confirm a breakout and pave the way toward $423, with the next major upside target near $478. However, another rejection could trigger a pullback toward the $316 support before buyers attempt

another breakout.

Supporting the bullish case, On-Balance Volume (OBV) has started trending higher, indicating steady accumulation as $XMR approaches resistance. The RSI has climbed above 65, reflecting strengthening bullish momentum, although it is nearing overbought territory where short-term profit-taking often emerges.

Derivatives data also points to improving market participation. Open Interest has climbed above 100K contracts, suggesting fresh capital is entering Monero's futures market alongside the price recovery.

Jordi Visser, a veteran of the macrofinance world, stated that the era of rapid 7-8 fold gains in the AI sector has stalled, and claimed that global capital and market dynamics will shift to Bitcoin and digital assets in the next major wave.

In a period where the growth rate of the AI rally has shifted gears due to capital expenditures (capex) and hardware bottlenecks, attention has once again turned to macroeconomic balances and the cryptocurrency market. Speaking on Anthony Pompliano’s show, Jordi Visser, a macro investor with over 30 years of experience and founder of AI Macro Nexus / AI22 Research, argued that the “easy money” era in AI is over and that it’s Bitcoin’s turn in capital rotation.

Jordi Visser pointed out that the aggressive valuations seen in AI infrastructure investments and large language models (LLMs) have reached saturation point. Stating that the high interest rate environment and physical hardware limitations such as chip and memory shortages are putting pressure on company margins, Visser made the following assessment:

“The ‘easy money’ trading model, where massive returns of 7-8 times the initial investment were achieved through AI, has come to an end. This doesn’t mean AI is dead; however, we’ve now entered a period of grueling and rational growth, typically around 30% annually. Capital is now seeking new avenues in terms of risk-return balance.”

Visser noted that giants like Google and Anthropic are burning significant capital trying to build infrastructure, but profitability is delayed due to physical limitations, which he said would drive investors towards alternative macro assets.

Across Protocol’s Risk Labs-operated relayer lost less than $4 million after an attacker fabricated $41.7 million in Solana deposit events, according to a post-incident report released by the cross-chain protocol. 1,627 fake deposits worth $41.7 million targeted 18 chains during the Solana attack.

Risk Labs’ relayer paid $4.5 million across 581 fraudulent requests before suspending service.

Around $500,000 in attacker funds remained trapped, reducing the net loss below $4 million.

Across restored Solana transfers through CCTP, while user funds and the ACX buyback remained unaffected.

Across attacker forged 1,627 Solana deposits

The attack occurred between 05:07 and 06:14 UTC on July 17, according to the Across Protocol post-mortem. The attacker used 1,627 single-use Solana wallets to create the same number of fake deposit events.
