Bitcoin introduced the first decentralized peer-to-peer electronic cash system, prioritizing security, decentralization, and censorship resistance. Its Proof of Work (PoW) consensus emphasizes network integrity, even if that means slower transaction speeds.
Solana, on the other hand, was designed for high-performance decentralized applications. By combining Proof of Stake (PoS) with Proof of History (PoH), it aims to deliver fast transaction processing, low fees, and greater scalability.
Here's how I see the comparison:
Bitcoin: Security and decentralization come first.
Solana: Speed, scalability, and user experience take priority.
Consensus: PoW vs. PoS + PoH.
Primary Use Case: Digital money and store of value vs. a platform for dApps, DeFi, NFTs, and gaming.
Rather than competing directly, these networks solve different problems. Understanding their design choices provides better insight than comparing transaction speeds alone.

Trump has repeatedly claimed he won the 2020 election, which he lost to Joe Biden.

Around the same time, wallets associated with the team behind Official Trump memecoin moved 10.84 million TRUMP tokens worth roughly $16.91 million, blockchain tracker Lookonchain reported.

The assets appeared likely to be routed through crypto custodian BitGo before potentially reaching exchanges. No sale has been confirmed.

The two developments are not directly connected. But their timing puts renewed attention on a cryptocurrency built around Trump’s political brand as its price falls, and more project-controlled tokens move through the market.

Ethereum ETFs lose $70.7M as BlackRock leads withdrawals - What's next for ET

Ethereum ETF outflows raised fresh concerns over institutional demand after U.S. spot ETFs recorded a $70.7 million net outflow on July 24.

BlackRock accounted for the largest share of that activity after investors withdrew $52.8 million from its $ETH fund.

The figures interrupted a period of sustained inflows and shifted attention toward whether large investors had started locking in profits.

However, one trading session rarely defines a broader trend, especially after weeks of consistent institutional accumulation.

Instead, the latest withdrawal suggested that some investors had adopted a more cautious stance near key price resistance.

As a result, Ethereum faced greater scrutiny because sustained ETF outflows could reduce institutional demand and weaken bullish sentiment if similar withdrawals continued over the coming sessions.

Exchange inflows add another layer of caution

On-chain spot flow data also reflected a subtle shift after Ethereum recorded a $5.92 million net inflow into exchanges during the latest session.

Positive netflows generally indicate that more $ETH moved onto exchanges than left them, increasing the amount of readily tradable supply.
