Bitcoin & Ethereum Now Trading on America’s Top Brokerage, Charles Schwab

America’s top brokerage firm, Charles Schwab, has officially rolled out trading for Bitcoin ($BTC) and Ethereum ($ETH) on the Schwab Crypto platform through the Charles Schwab Premier Bank.

The phased launch will begin with an internal employee pilot, followed by a client waitlist pilot, followed by deeper expansion throughout Q2, 2026, and beyond. New York and Louisiana are currently exempt from the service.

Charles Schwab brokerage unveils $BTC and $ETH trading

Today’s announcement is a follow-up to the one that happened earlier this month. Charles Schwab now plans to integrate more cryptocurrencies and AI tools to cater to industry demand, while diversifying its revenue sources.

At present, the Texas-headquartered firm boasts about $1.48 trillion in assets under management (AUM), and up to 46 million active brokerage accounts managed by 16,000 advisors.

Aside from its flagship crypto product, Charles Schwab released its Q1 2026 earnings report today. Its net revenue grew 16% year-over-year to a record $6.48 billion, slightly missing the $6.50 billion expectation. This caused a 7.73% drop in its stock (NYSE: SCHW) on the day, with the stock trading at $92.53 at the time of writing.

BNB Price Targets $700 After 35th Quarterly Burn Boost


$BNB, the native token of the $BNB Chain, is up 0.72% in the last 24-hours to currently trade at $621 mark. The coin price gained its initial momentum from broader market uptick as the U.S. and Iran are in indirect talks to extend the two-week ceasefire. However, the $BNB price gained an additional boost following the 35th quarterly token burn which incinerated 1.57 million $BNB (~$1 billion), directly reducing circulating supply and supporting price.

$BNB Burns $1.02B in 35th Quarterly Token Burn

On April 15, $BNB Chain completed its 35th quarterly token burn, which permanently removed 1,569,307.34 $BNB out of circulation. The lost tokens were worth about $1.02 billion in the market during the operation.

The automatic process, based on on-chain transaction fees, decreased the overall $BNB supply to 134,786,916.53. This is the second of these burns of 2026 and an extension of the fixed schedule of the protocol of contraction of supply.

Burn is done in a fully transparent formula-based Auto-Burn system that is pegged to $BNB price and block production on the $BNB Smart Chain. Tokens sent to a dead address become unrecoverable, directly lowering available supply every three months. The precise figures are reported in official records without any further manual manipulations.

This action constitutes a part of $BNB continuous operation of reducing its maximum supply to a long-term goal of 100 million tokens. By shrinking available supply, the event creates a greater scarcity for existing holders. Over repeated cycles, the token buying mechanism could tighten market liquidity, often alternating trading dynamics, relative demand pressure, and network activity.

As discussions intensify in the cryptocurrency world regarding the potential threat of quantum computers to the Bitcoin network, a new approach recently put forward by Adam Back, who is also claimed to be Satoshi Nakamoto, has attracted attention.

Back introduced a different perspective within the developer community by advocating for optional upgrades rather than a mandatory transition in the process of making Bitcoin quantum resilient.

Speaking at the Paris Blockchain Week event, Back argued that changes to the system should be implemented in a controlled and gradual manner. “Preparation is critical; it’s much safer to implement changes in a controlled way rather than acting hastily in a crisis,” Back said, also highlighting the Bitcoin network’s capacity for rapid coordination in emergencies. Recalling that previously discovered security vulnerabilities could be fixed within hours, Back stated that consensus could be reached quickly in critical moments.

Back’s proposal differs significantly from BIP-361, a more stringent version developed by developers. This proposal, drafted by Jameson Lopp and other developers, was updated on April 15th and incorporated into the Bitcoin codebase under the title “Post-Quantum Transition and Deprecation of Traditional Signatures.” The proposal envisions the gradual deactivation of addresses vulnerable to quantum attacks over five years and the freezing of assets that do not transition (including Bitcoins believed to belong to Satoshi Nakamoto).
