Last chapter suggested that Bitcoin may not need more buyers to rise — it may simply need fewer sellers. Ethereum presents the more dangerous version of that idea.

ETH can look calm while its market becomes fragile underneath. The real question is not whether Ethereum can attract another wave of capital. It is whether the market can absorb that capital without repricing violently.

Coinbase Research noted that ETH positioning improved while order books remained ask-heavy and bid-side liquidity weakened. At the same time, ETH ETF flows strengthened sharply: U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs attracted about $697 million in the week ending August 21.

More capital is arriving. But the market capable of absorbing it may not be getting deeper.

This is where price can become misleading.

Imagine Tangerine watching ETH hold its range and saying: “Nothing is wrong.” Pineapple sees the ETF inflows and expects FOMO. Monk waits for confirmation.

Only one of them is watching the missing variable: how much price must move to find the next seller or buyer?

If liquidity is thin, a large institutional flow does not necessarily produce a smooth rally. It can produce gaps, slippage, liquidations and sudden volatility.

Jonah Whitmore explored a similar idea in THE MEMORY EDITOR: markets, like memories, do not preserve every detail. They preserve what survives pressure. ETH’s current price may be recording the headline — but not the disappearing depth underneath it.

My concrete forecast: if ETH ETF inflows remain positive while bid-side depth deteriorates, the next major ETH move is more likely to be abrupt than gradual.

The real question for traders is not “Will ETH go higher?”

It is: How much liquidity is still standing between here and the next major move?

DeFi Development launches dashboard tracking Solana network data.DeFi Development Corp. has launched State of Solana, a public real-time research platform that tracks Solana market, network, staking, validator, yield and ecosystem data through a single dashboard.

According to a Wednesday press release from the Nasdaq-listed company, State of Solana was built to give investors, builders and ecosystem participants access to network-level data alongside $SOL price information, with more datasets, visualizations and research tools planned over time.

The platform currently tracks $SOL returns across several periods, including 24 hours, three months, year to date, one year and five years. It also provides interactive price history, daily and year-to-date network snapshots, cross-chain comparisons and yield opportunities available across Solana.

Live network information includes epoch progress, slot times, block height and throughput, while users can also monitor current and historical transactions per second. Staking yield, inflation, validator distribution, the Nakamoto coefficient, network uptime and upcoming Solana upgrades are included in the dashboard.

DeFi Development Chief Marketing Officer Pete Humiston said the company’s case for Solana goes beyond the market value of $SOL.

“We have spent a lot of time explaining why we believe Solana is one of the most important networks in crypto, but that thesis extends far beyond the price of $SOL,” Humiston said.

“State of Solana gives investors and ecosystem participants a way to see the underlying data for themselves,” he added.

Ethereum price holds $2,450 as bull flag takes shape

.Ethereum price traded near $2,450 on Aug. 26 after a sharp weekly rally stalled below $2,550, while its 4-hour chart formed a potential bull flag that could decide the next major move.


According to data from crypto.news, Ethereum ($ETH) price was trading at $2,452 at the time of writing, holding most of the gains produced by last week’s sharp breakout.

$ETH opened at $2,251.44 on Aug. 20 and rose to an intraday high of $2,545.88 the following day. Its move from the Aug. 20 opening price to the weekly high represented a gain of about 13%.

The advance becomes larger when measured from the consolidation zone near $1,900 that preceded the breakout. Ethereum gained nearly 34% between that level and the weekly peak before buyers and sellers reached a temporary balance.

Price has since remained largely between $2,400 and $2,500. That tight range shows that traders have not fully reversed the rally despite the failure to extend above $2,550.

The recovery also marked a clear shift from Ethereum’s earlier weakness. $ETH had spent much of August moving sideways below $1,950 before breaking through $2,000 and accelerating toward $2,500.

US investors are also watching broader liquidity conditions after falling bond yields supported a recovery across risk assets. Crypto traders will now assess whether those conditions can sustain spot demand after the initial rally and market-wide short squeeze.

Tokenized Equities: The Model Underneath the Trade

Equity markets are moving toward continuous, around-the-clock trading, and the conversation has so far focused on exchange hours. Nasdaq now runs 23 hours a day; NYSE Arca has proposed the same; NSCC extended clearing to 24/5 in June 2026. These are real improvements, but they do not create genuinely continuous markets. Extending execution hours over a batch-cleared, T+1 settlement backbone can widen the gap between when a trade completes and when ownership formally changes hands, increasing friction rather than reducing it.
