Goldman Sachs filed a registration statement with the SEC on April 14 for the Goldman Sachs Bitcoin Premium Income ETF, the first bitcoin ETF news from the Wall Street giant that proposes directly issuing its own crypto income product rather than simply holding third-party spot funds. Summary The fund will invest at least 80% of net assets in instruments providing bitcoin exposure, primarily shares of spot bitcoin ETPs such as BlackRock’s IBIT and Fidelity’s FBTC, then sell call options on those positions to collect monthly premiums. The options overwrite level will range from 40% to 100% of exposure depending on market conditions, capping some upside during rallies in exchange for steady income paid to shareholders. Bloomberg senior ETF analyst Eric Balchunas described the product as “boomer candy,” noting that Goldman could leapfrog BlackRock’s competing BITA fund by leveraging its distribution network and institutional client relationships. The Goldman Sachs Bitcoin Premium Income ETF, filed under the Goldman Sachs ETF Trust as a post-effective amendment, would not hold bitcoin directly. It routes exposure through spot bitcoin ETPs and then generates monthly income by selling call options against that position. The fund does not hold bitcoin itself. A short-selling campaign targeting Wall Street's "tax avoidance business" is now aimed at a multi-billion dollar asset management giant.

According to a recent letter to investors obtained by Bloomberg, short-selling firm Orso Partners has established a short position in Affiliated Managers Group (AMG). AMG is an investment firm managing $813 billion, and its holdings include AQR Capital Management, founded by Cliff Asness.

Orso's logic is straightforward: AQR's core growth engine in recent years-its tax optimization strategy-is facing a direct threat from tightening regulations. Once regulations are implemented, AMG's profits will be the first to be affected.

Following the report, AMG's stock price fell as much as 1.7% to $294.28 that day, completely erasing its earlier 2.9% intraday gain.

How large is this "tax avoidance business"?

The continuous rise in US stocks over the past few years has allowed wealthy investors to accumulate substantial taxable gains. Wall Street subsequently saw the emergence of products called "tax-aware long-short strategies," specifically designed to help high-net-worth clients legally reduce their tax burden.

2️⃣ The biggest incident so far in 2026

In January, someone posing as IT support convinced an individual to hand over their hardware wallet recovery credentials.

The attacker walked away with $282M in BTC and LTC, immediately swapping into $XMR to make tracing nearly impossible.

Definitely the unluckiest individual in 2026.

3️⃣ Hackers are moving fast... or are they?

In 76% of cases, hackers move funds before the team is aware of the hit.

Average hack report time is ~1.5 days.

Makes you wonder whether some teams were genuinely unaware or if delaying the announcement was convenient for them.

4️⃣ Smart contract exploit trend

Total Q1 2026 losses were lower than Q1 2025, but only because there was no catastrophic exchange hack this quarter.

Smart contract exploit losses are actually up 213% YOY, reaching $86.2M across 28 incidents.

Not really an improvement if you look at it from this angle.

5️⃣ North Korean hackers keep draining the crypto space

They were responsible for $2.04B in theft in 2025, accounting for 52% of all annual losses.

That tension is now feeding different technical analyses, with one analyst arguing that the probability of a deeper crash has dropped significantly based on long-term signals.

Chance Of Bitcoin Making New Lows Is Very Small
Bitcoin has spent months testing the patience of its holders since its all-time high of $126,000 in 2025. According to crypto analyst Sykodelic, there is a compelling case that the drawdown is done and that the probability of Bitcoin revisiting new lows at this point has dropped massively.

Sykodelic’s rationale leans heavily on the behavior of the Relative Strength Index (RSI) on the weekly candlestick timeframe chart. According to his analysis posted on X, Bitcoin has just printed a powerful bullish break on the weekly RSI, and what makes this particular reading extraordinary is not just where it bounced from but how low it got before doing so.

The weekly RSI has only fallen below 30 on three occasions in BTC’s history, with the most recent being Q1 2026. However, the RSI is now back into the normal zone, and it has broken above a descending trendline that touches lower highs. According to the analyst, this scenario means that the probabilities are now very slim for new lows of any kind.

The Bottom Signals Have Stacked Up
The RSI break did not arrive on its own. Sykodelic noted that multiple bottom indicators have converged simultaneously, a convergence he described as reaching a very high degree. According to him, about 12 important bottom indicators have fired, and Bitcoin is showing it here.
