Money Is Rotating Back Into Bitcoin, On-Chain Data Shows
Bitcoin's realized cap recovered from -$28.7 billion to -$3 billion as capital exits stablecoins.

The rotation began as geopolitical uncertainty from the Iran conflict peaked.

Futures speculators are net long, mirroring a setup that preceded the 2023 breakout.

Bitcoin (BTC) is showing early signs of a liquidity rotation, with on-chain metrics and futures positioning both pointing to a gradual shift in investor behavior.

The move comes as BTC’s price has seen a modest recovery amid the conflict between the US, Israel, and Iran.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), analyst Darkfost noted that at the end of February, Bitcoin’s realized cap hit an extreme low of -$28.7 billion. At the same time, stablecoin market capitalization grew to over $6 billion.

This reflected defensive positioning by investors looking to preserve capital without fully exiting the market. According to the analyst,

“This marked the first time such a rotation had been observed since the previous bear market. At that stage, this configuration signaled a clear intention from investors to protect their capital.”

Tron’s TVL clocked $4.96 billion as of 10 April (Friday), which was a $1.1 billion gain from its lowest figure in March. Such growth figures are not quite common during a market downturn.

A substantial amount of that upside was because the TRX price surged considerably during the last 4 weeks. However, a look at the Tron TVL in TRX form rather than in dollar denomination also revealed a surge from 12.84 billion TRX towards the end of March, to 15.48 TRX at press time.

The market rose over the week after a two-week ceasefire was announced, triggering a derivatives short squeeze that wiped out over $430 million in bearish positions.

The CoinDesk 20 index was trading up about 0.12% over the past 24 hours, while Ethereum (ETH) was up about 0.1%. Other major cryptocurrencies saw similarly small moves.

The U.S.-Iran truce remains fragile, with Israel continuing airstrikes against Lebanon and Iran announcing it will charge ships a toll to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, prompting criticism from U.S. President Donald Trump.

CNN reported earlier Saturday that Vice President J.D. Vance, special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, who does not hold a formal position with the U.S. government but is Trump's son-in-law, are leading the U.S. side of the talks. Iran's delegation includes its Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, and Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, according to The New York Times. Pakistan itself is a third party to the talks.

Some ships have passed through the Strait of Hormuz on Saturday, after traffic through the vital maritime route collapsed when U.S. strikes against Iran began at the end of February.
