Bitcoin’s rally toward $75,000 is running into a wall of supply just as institutional demand is holding steady.

The move higher has been driven largely by macro flows rather than a broad surge in speculative activity. U.S.-listed spot bitcoin ETFs have continued to draw consistent inflows this month, including roughly $240 million in a single session following geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, according to market maker Enflux.

That bid helped lift $BTC from around $71,000 to the mid-$70,000s, even as traditional markets absorbed rising oil prices and shifting rate expectations. The pattern, Enflux noted, reflects allocation behavior rather than momentum chasing.

But as bitcoin pushes higher, the character of the market is starting to change.

Charles Hoskinson Says 34% of Bitcoin Could Be Stolen by Quantum Computers in 2030s


Charles Hoskinson used a lengthy video address this week to deliver what he described as a long overdue reckoning for Bitcoin maximalists, centred on a quantum computing threat he says is no longer theoretical and a proposed fix he says does not actually work.

As of March 1, 2026, over 34% of all Bitcoin has had its public key exposed on-chain, either through address reuse or legacy pay-to-public-key-hash formats. That represents approximately 8 million Bitcoin that could be stolen by an attacker with a sufficiently powerful quantum computer. Based on current research timelines, Hoskinson places that threat arriving in the 2030s.

“Not hypothetically one magical day in the future when unicorns fart rainbows,” he said. “In the 2030s. Right in front of your face.”

The Proposal That Does Not Solve the Problem

A Bitcoin Improvement Proposal currently circulating, BIP-361, attempts to address the vulnerability by freezing quantum-vulnerable funds and forcing a migration to post-quantum addresses. Hoskinson spent considerable time dissecting why he believes it fails on its own terms.

The proposal claims to be a soft fork. Hoskinson says it is not. It would require a hard fork, something Bitcoin has never done and, by the religion of its maximalist community, never will.

More critically, the proposed zero-knowledge proof recovery system only works for wallets built on the BIP-39 seed phrase standard, which was not introduced until 2013. Approximately 1.7 million Bitcoin, including an estimated 1.1 million belonging to Satoshi Nakamoto, exist in legacy wallet formats that predate this standard. There is no zero-knowledge proof that can recover those coins.

He points out that markets are currently stuck in a “liquidity squeeze,” driven by rising global debt, geopolitical tensions, and capital outflows, something even the IMF has flagged. Add to that the yen carry trade unwind, private credit stress, and oil price swings from Middle East tensions, and it’s creating a broader “global margin call,” where assets, including crypto, face selling pressure.

At the same time, inflation is picking up again, with the U.S. PPI hitting around 4%. Interestingly, he said that liquidity isn’t gone; central bank balance sheets hint it’s already creeping back quietly.

Still, he keeps the sentiments slow: expect a “drop before the pop.” A deeper shakeout could come before things turn bullish.

Reason 1: Liquidity Injection & Lower Rates

The first trigger is the central bank’s participation. With economic stress building, he expects rate cuts and fresh liquidity injections. A new Fed chair is also expected soon, potentially accelerating this change. More liquidity means more capital flowing into risk assets like $XRP.

Reason 2: Clarity Act & Regulatory Green Light

The second trigger is regulation. The Clarity Act is moving forward, and recent SEC guidance has already opened doors for builders on the $XRP Ledger. This removes a major roadblock that held back development for years.

With compliance already built into the system, $XRP stands in a strong position as institutions look for legally clear platforms.

The Ethereum DEX aggregator market landscape has shifted over the past year, moving away from the near-dominance of a single protocol toward a more distributed competitive field.

Kyber currently leads with approximately 31% market share, followed by CowSwap at 22%, while 1inch has seen its share decline from roughly 30% to 15% over the same period. This diversification stands in contrast to broader trends in crypto, where many sectors have seen consolidation.

The all-time view shows 1inch commanding the majority of aggregator volume through 2021-2022, a period that coincided with aggressive liquidity mining campaigns across DeFi. The subsequent erosion of its share as incentives wound down raises a structural question of how much of any aggregator's volume reflects genuine user preference versus incentive-driven activity.

It is worth noting that this data captures direct-to-aggregator volume only. If a user routes through aggregator A and it internally routes to aggregator B, only aggregator A receives credit. Flash loan trades are also filtered out. This methodology means the figures likely understate the reach of protocols that function as backends for other aggregators.

Whether the current distribution reflects lasting structural change or another rotation driven by incentive cycles will become clearer as token programs mature.

For now, the data suggests the aggregator space on Ethereum is more competitive than it has been in years.

Bitcoin hits ‘near-term selling pressure’ after rally to $76K: 

Bitcoin deposits to crypto exchanges surged on Tuesday as it rallied above $76,000, suggesting it is hitting “near-term selling pressure” as investors move their coins into a position for sale, according to CryptoQuant.

In a report on Wednesday, CryptoQuant said the size and rate of Bitcoin ($BTC) inflows to exchanges have increased since the rally, with hourly inflows spiking to 11,000 $BTC, the highest since December.

CryptoQuant said it is a “historically reliable warning signal of near-term selling pressure, as holders move coins to exchanges in preparation for potential distribution at key resistance zones.”

It added that the average deposit size also increased to 2.25 $BTC, the highest since July 2024, and similar to January, when average deposits peaked at 2 $BTC before the price nearly halved from $100,000 to $60,000.

Crypto investors have been hoping for a Bitcoin rally as the war in Iran appears to be de-escalating. However, a large shift of Bitcoin into crypto exchanges could suggest any rally would be short-lived.

TradingView shows Bitcoin hit $76,052 on Coinbase on Tuesday, securing its highest price since early February.

However, CryptoQuant said that as Bitcoin nears its $76,800 realized price, it will act “as a ceiling for relief rallies,” and traders who are nearing breakeven on their holdings will be “incentivized to sell, capping further upside.”

It added that Bitcoin’s rally in January was capped as it hit its realized price at the time, which caused prices to reverse, and “the same dynamic may repeat if selling pressure builds from current levels.”
