Nasdaq and the CME Group have stepped up a joint effort to give big investors a single, regulated way to measure crypto markets. According to Nasdaq, the firms have reintroduced the Nasdaq Crypto Index as the Nasdaq-CME Crypto Index (NCI), a benchmark built to support products like ETFs and structured funds. The announcement was made early this month and is presented as a move to bring clearer rules and governance to index-based crypto exposure.


Nasdaq And CME Combine Index Expertise
Reports have disclosed the NCI will be calculated by CF Benchmarks and overseen by joint committees that include representatives from both exchanges. That arrangement is intended to mirror traditional index practices used in equities and derivatives, with regular reconstitution and transparent methodology. CF Benchmarks has already handled Nasdaq Crypto Index reconstitutions, including the reconstitution on December 1, 2025, which is part of the index family’s work ahead of the rebrand.

Crypto market updates today are being shaped by a sharp escalation in sanctions-driven on-chain activity, after new data showed illicit crypto transfers reached an all-time high in 2025.

According to a recent report from Chainalysis, blacklisted wallets received at least $154 billion in cryptocurrency last year, a 162% increase from roughly $59 billion in 2024. The firm described the surge as “unprecedented volumes associated with nation-states’ on-chain behavior,” marking a new phase in the evolution of illicit crypto use.


One major contributor was Russia, which launched its ruble-backed A7A5 token in February and processed more than $93.3 billion in transactions within a year, as sanctioned entities sought alternatives to traditional finance.

Stablecoins accounted for 84% of illicit transaction volume, reflecting their growing role across the broader market due to speed, liquidity, and lower volatility.

Despite the headline figures, Chainalysis noted that illicit activity still represents less than 1% of total crypto transactions, underscoring why risk awareness, not panic, is becoming central to global crypto headlines.

While the term may sound ominous to the average investor, market analysts point out that this pullback is far from accidental. Instead, it appears to be a calculated phase in the current bull market cycle, potentially a necessary build-up before the next major expansion.


Understanding the "Crash Line" Pattern


Market analyst Crypto Tice recently noted that after a significant price retracement of approximately 33.38%, Bitcoin has returned to this particular trend line. Historically, the "crash line" has acted more as a "reload point" than a signal of structural failure. In the current cycle, Bitcoin has exhibited this behavior twice, bottoming out after retracements of approximately 33.10% and 30.97%, respectively, before initiating strong rebounds.


 This pattern typically operates in three phases:


* **Overheating Momentum:** Buyers push prices to unsustainable highs, leading to excessive market leverage.


* **Leverage Cleansing:** This is followed by a sharp pullback, liquidating long leverage and releasing selling pressure.


* **Expansion Phase:** Once prices stabilize at the breakout line, which acts as a "transition point," the market resets, laying the foundation for a healthy continuation of the overall upward trend.


The Current Market Impasse


While historical support levels have brought optimism, other experts remain cautious. Market analyst Crypto King points out that Bitcoin is currently in a "non-trading zone." Although the asset price has recovered the $90,000 mark, liquidity and retail participation have begun to shrink. This sideways consolidation is prone to false breakouts, increasing the difficulty for traders to establish high-confidence positions.

俄罗斯社会基金在2025年接到了约3700万个电话，其中与加密货币相关的咨询以及传统的社会福利咨询最为热门。

据当地媒体报道，民众想知道养老金是否可以以数字资产支付，以及挖矿收入是否计入社会福利计算。为此，官方澄清所有国家支付款项仍以卢布结算，而加密货币的税收则由联邦税务局管辖。

如此大量的加密货币咨询反映了俄罗斯对加密货币日益增长的需求。目前，俄罗斯的挖矿日收入约为10亿卢布，相关监管框架也在不断完善，预计将于2026年中期正式实施。

上个月，克里姆林宫高级官员马克西姆·奥列什金力主将加密货币挖矿纳入俄罗斯官方贸易账户的出口活动范畴。他认为，挖出的数字资产虽然从未跨越国界，但实际上却在流向国外。
