Analyst Issues Bullish Warning for Bitcoin (BTC)! "Expect This Level Within One or Two Months!"

The leading cryptocurrency, Bitcoin ($BTC), is trading around $74,600 after a strong week.

Analysts say the rally has stalled ahead of the expiration of the two-week ceasefire agreement between the US and Iran next week.

However, one analyst predicts that Bitcoin could rise to $125,000 in the coming months.

Speaking to Coindesk, ZeroStack CEO Daniel Reis-Faria stated that perpetual interest rates on Bitcoin are extremely negative, which could trigger a significant price increase.

Noting that Bitcoin's perpetual term funding rates are quite negative, the analyst said, "this indicates that investors are heavily shorting, expecting a decline."

According to the analyst, this increases the likelihood of a sharp short squeeze that could push the Bitcoin price towards $125,000 in the coming months.

Shares of Strategy (previously known as Microstrategy) surged sharply on Friday, tracking a strong rally in Bitcoin that pushed the company’s massive cryptocurrency holdings back into profitable territory.

The stock climbed 16.25% to its intraday high, although it is trading 10% higher at the time of writing, extending a five-day rally that has put it on track for a weekly gain of more than 30%.

The move came as Bitcoin rose nearly 4% in the past 24 hours, briefly approaching $78,000 and trading above $77,400.

Bitcoin rally lifts Strategy’s holdings

The surge in Bitcoin prices has had a direct impact on Strategy’s balance sheet, given its large exposure to the digital asset. The company has accumulated more than 780,000 Bitcoin, with an average purchase price estimated at $75,580 according to data from BitcoinTreasuries.

Earlier this year, Bitcoin had fallen below Strategy’s average acquisition cost, placing its holdings under pressure. The latest rally has reversed that trend, pushing the company’s Bitcoin portfolio back into the green by about 3.14%, or roughly $1.8 billion in gains.

With Bitcoin now above its average cost basis, Strategy’s treasury strategy is once again delivering positive returns, reinforcing investor enthusiasm for the stock.

The company’s holdings are currently valued at approximately $56 billion, underscoring the scale of its bet on the cryptocurrency market.

Bitcoin also experienced intense volatility. It dropped sharply in the initial shock, briefly falling by nearly 24%, before recovering as liquidity conditions tightened across traditional markets. The rebound highlighted a familiar pattern: panic-driven selloffs followed by rapid stabilization as crypto markets decouple from short-term fear cycles.
The conflict also exposed crypto’s physical dependencies. Rising energy prices and disrupted regional stability put pressure on mining operations, leading to reduced hashrate in affected areas. Despite this, the Bitcoin network continued operating without structural disruption, reinforcing its resilience under stress.
Stablecoins became another focal point. In a constrained financial environment, dollar-pegged assets increasingly served as cross-border liquidity channels, while also attracting heightened scrutiny due to their role in sanction-affected flows.
More controversially, discussions emerged around crypto being used in state-level settlement systems, particularly in trade and energy logistics where traditional payment rails face restrictions. This marks a shift in narrative—from crypto as an alternative asset to crypto as a functional layer in global trade infrastructure.

The SEC's sweeping regulatory shift under Chairman Paul Atkins sends the clearest signal yet that America's top securities regulator has chosen cooperation over confrontation with the crypto industry—but experts say the question of whether rhetoric will translate into sustainable policy remains central to markets. 

In the first episode of the Material Matters podcast, Atkins' first official podcast, the SEC chairman championed innovation, declaring that the US must become a place "where people want to innovate, whether in cryptocurrency or elsewhere," and noting "a very important inflection point in American markets."

The first episode, released Thursday, featured Commissioners Mark Ueda and Hester Peirce, and the agency presented it as a window into its priorities for 2026.

"There's been a complete reversal of direction over the last four years," Ueda said of the Gensler-era SEC, noting that the agency has strayed from its core mandate in areas such as overseeing diversity, equity, and inclusion, greenhouse gas emissions disclosure, and supply chain management.
