The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) has recognized the T3 Financial Crime Unit (T3 FCU) as a leading example of effective public-private collaboration in combating illicit activity across blockchain networks, according to a report published on January 8.


In its latest publication, the global anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing watchdog pointed out T3 FCU’s ability to operate across jurisdictions, monitor transactions in real time, and support law enforcement agencies in identifying and disrupting criminal networks.

The FATF said the initiative demonstrates how coordinated action between the public and private sectors can strengthen financial integrity in the rapidly evolving digital asset ecosystem.

Bitcoin, which slumped as low as $89,311, struggled to reclaim the $91,000 mark at the time of writing, leaving many investors despondent. This pessimism is understandable as Bitcoin has consistently suffered major losses following every rise over recent months. The decline in volumes and open positions also confirms this sentiment. So, what are the insights from the cryptocurrency oracle today?

The Oracle’s Insights

An analyst under the pseudonym Roman Trading, who made accurate predictions in the past two quarters, views each new rise as a selling opportunity. He had previously warned cryptocurrency investors when BTC was above $120,000, suggesting that the journey to $80,000 was imminent. Today, he shares a graph indicating that even the $89,000 level will be lost.

His target is $76,000 with an expectation for an extreme bearish dip around $56,000. He states, “Currently at the $89,000 level, I believe it will fall further. I still anticipate a drop to the $76,000 level and this lateral movement is merely a reset to reach there. I see no signs of a reversal and the high time frame remains significantly bearish.”

If Roman Trading proves correct, 2026 could be a period of destruction for cryptocurrencies, with altcoins potentially facing losses exceeding 90%. Nevertheless, the prolonged conditions of excessive selling suggest that at some point, a multi-week break is necessary, which may begin next week.

Tom Lee’s Bitmine has added nearly 100,000 ETH, valued at about $344.4 million on Thursday, lifting its Ethereum holdings to 908,192 ETH, worth $2.95 billion.

The additional staking comes hours after the leading ETH accumulator reported staking 19,200 ETH, worth $60.85 million.

В заявлении, опубликованном на X, Truebit сообщила об обнаружении вредоносной активности, связанной с контрактом «Truebit Protocol: Purchase» по адресу 0x764C64b2A09b09Acb100B80d8c505Aa6a0302EF2, и призвала пользователей воздержаться от взаимодействия с контрактом до дальнейшего уведомления.

Команда сообщила, что сотрудничает с правоохранительными органами и будет предоставлять обновления через официальные каналы.

Уязвимость в ценообразовании позволила получить бесплатные токены

Хотя Truebit пока не раскрыла технические подробности уязвимости, анализ в блокчейне указывает на то, что эксплойт произошел из-за ошибки в логике ценообразования в функции getPurchasePrice[uint256] контракта.


 По сообщениям, функция возвращала нулевую цену для необычно больших запросов на создание токенов, что позволяло злоумышленникам создавать токены бесплатно.

Используя эту уязвимость, злоумышленник смог многократно создавать и продавать токены обратно в кривую связывания протокола, истощая резервы ETH посредством быстрого цикла покупки-продажи.

Одна из основных транзакций, использованных для эксплуатации уязвимости, включала функцию, явно помеченную как «Атака».

Большая часть украденных средств была консолидирована на одном адресе, а меньшая часть переведена на дополнительный кошелек.

Средства перемещались через Tornado Cash

Вскоре после эксплуатации уязвимости, согласно данным транзакций, примерно половина украденных ETH была переведена через Tornado Cash.
