Garlinghouse stated: “My thoughts exactly… Perfect can’t be the enemy of good. Let’s get this done!”responsibilities, consumer protections, and digital asset market rules. Ripple has argued that clearer standards would reduce uncertainty for crypto users and businesses.

Garlinghouse has continued promoting the legislation as Ripple expands its advocacy efforts, including its broader CLARITY Act campaign in Washington and public outreach aimed at lawmakers. Lido’s [DAO] latest accounting discrepancy briefly understated stETH staking yields. As a result, this error highlighted an operational reporting issue rather than a protocol failure.

The daily rebase $APR reached 2.04% instead of the expected 2.15% because the accounting oracle missed a 32 $ETH validator deposit. However, contributors verified validator balances and found no missing funds or protocol penalties.

That outcome shifted attention from security risks toward accounting accuracy, strengthening confidence in Lido’s staking infrastructure. Meanwhile, the smaller rebase reflected delayed reward recognition instead of weaker validator performance.

The team continues investigating the root cause before deploying a fix. Afterward, the next rebase will restore the omitted balances and normalize reported staking yields.

The reporting discrepancy originated during validator accounting rather than reward generation. As the accounting oracle prepared its daily snapshot, one 32 $ETH validator deposit remained in transit between reporting stages and therefore fell outside the finalized update.

Since the accounting is done on a snapshot basis, that timing created a temporary mismatch between recorded deposits. As a result, the validator balances were already reflected on the Beacon Chain.

Rather than altering staking performance, the synchronization delay only affected how the oracle calculated distributable rewards for that reporting cycle.

Once the pending deposit completes the accounting process, subsequent oracle updates will capture the balance. This would then allow future rebases to reflect the full validator position without permanently reducing staking rewards.

Among the four major products, Ethereum spot ETFs attracted the largest amount of fresh capital, bringing in $103.9 million. Bitcoin spot ETFs also remained positive, recording $33.79 million in net inflows during the same period.

Crypto investors are seeing a growing gap between how blockchain networks perform as businesses and how their tokens trade. Market data showed Maker’s Sky generated $210.9 million in revenue over the past 90 days, the highest among major protocols, even as its $SKY token fell 33.5%.

The disconnect stretched beyond the largest projects. Spark’s token dropped 55.3% while its revenue slipped just 2.6%, and Bittensor increased revenue 25.4% to $3.3 million despite its token losing 24.7%. The figures suggest protocol revenue is becoming less closely tied to token prices, even as investors continue to judge projects largely by market sentiment.

Sky posted the strongest quarterly revenue growth among the 10 largest crypto projects, with revenue rising 74.2% from the previous quarter. Despite that performance, its $SKY token fell 24.5% over the past 90 days and 27.3% over the past year, creating the widest revenue-to-price gap in the group.

Investor Defi Rocketeer described $SKY as one of the clearest examples of strong protocol fundamentals failing to lift a token’s price. The analyst noted that Sky generated $420.6 million in trailing 12-month revenue, while annual revenue increased 11.2%.

Much of Sky’s income comes from stability fees and yields tied to real-world assets and US Treasuries. Even so, the stronger revenue has yet to translate into sustained gains for the token.

Speaking on The Peter Schiff Show Podcast, the economist and longtime Bitcoin critic said the AI trade cracked open this week even as broader indexes held up. Alphabet fell 10% after the company announced higher capital spending than investors expected. Oracle dropped nearly 8% on the week and is now down 41% for the year. Meta fell 7.3%, Amazon lost 6.8%, and Microsoft slipped 2.7%, pushing its year to date decline to 19.3%, close to bear market territory.

Schiff said the market’s reaction marks a shift from prior quarters, when hyperscalers announcing bigger artificial intelligence (AI) budgets typically saw their share prices climb. “Investors are now finally starting to question whether or not these investments are in fact going to pay off,” he said.

SpaceX and Tesla Take the Brunt

SpaceX shares dropped another 7.7% during the week and now trade 49% below the stock’s post IPO high. The company’s public float is set to expand from 5% to 40% of shares by the end of the year, a change Schiff explained could add further pressure on the stock.

Tesla fell 18% over the same stretch and sits 35% below its 52 week high. Together, the declines in Tesla and SpaceX cost Elon Musk close to $100 billion in a single week, according to Schiff’s estimates.

A Dot-Com Comparison

The gold proponent and economist compared the roughly three-quarters of a trillion dollars in annual AI capital spending to the buildout that preceded the dot-com crash. He said many of the early internet favorites that investors poured money into eventually went bankrupt without ever recovering their spending. He does not doubt the long term potential of AI, but argued markets are overestimating near term returns on hyperscaler investment.
