The Solana memecoin world just got another new player. A fresh token called $PREDIC launched on Pump.fun and quickly crossed $7 million in trading volume within hours. The launch also caught the attention of a well-known Solana whale wallet, according to on-chain data shared by Whale Insider.The wallet, which has a history of loading up on trending Solana tokens, picked up 860 million $PREDIC tokens for around $5,500 shortly after launch. While the buy is small compared to its past moves, it still added fuel to the hype around the new token. As usual, Solana’s memecoin scene moved fast. Traders rushed in, volume exploded and the charts started moving like a roller coaster.


Whale Wallet Makes Early Move


The wallet that bought $PREDIC is not a random small trader. On-chain data shows it previously held large positions in popular Solana tokens like:


$USELESS – $139,000


$AVICI – $138,000


$WHITEWHALE – $63,000


Because of this history, many traders watch this wallet closely. When it buys something new, people notice. This time, the wallet spent only $5.5K on $PREDIC. That is tiny compared to its earlier bets. So while the move shows interest, it does not scream full conviction yet. Think of it as dipping a toe in the water and not diving in. BlackRock has made a major move in crypto, but not the kind most headlines suggest. When BlackRock’s IBIT ETF records a large single-day Bitcoin [BTC] purchase, many frame it as a bold corporate bet.

However, in reality, BlackRock isn’t speculating with its own balance sheet.

Instead, it is acting as an intermediary, pulling Bitcoin off the open market on behalf of pension funds, asset managers, and long-term institutional investors.



In mid-January 2026, investor demand surged sharply. To meet that demand, BlackRock purchased nearly 6647 Bitcoin in one session. This steady accumulation has pushed BlackRock’s total Bitcoin holdings to roughly 781,000 BTC – Close to 4% of all Bitcoin currently in circulation.
This move is not just with Bitcoin, but also with Ethereum though. BlackRock recently added tens of thousands of Ethereum [ETH], while other large investors locked up Ethereum through staking. Staked ETH cannot move easily, further reducing supply on exchanges.

Together, ETF accumulation and staking continue to tighten available supply and dampen short-term selling pressure.

Despite this aggressive absorption, however, prices have not exploded upwards. In fact, at the time of writing, the altcoin was valued at close to $3,335 pn the price charts.

Still, these price levels are much better than ones below $90,000 – Levels seen by BTC back in Q4 2025.

Meanwhile, BlackRock’s IBIT and ETHA recorded inflows worth $648.4 million and $81.6 million, respectively.

The bitcoin price surged above $97,000 this week, marking its strongest level in more than two months, on a mix of economic news and renewed inflows into U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs.


Crypto investors appear to be kicking off 2026 with a familiar playbook: allocating heavily to Bitcoin ETFs.


On Tuesday, the dozen U.S.-listed spot Bitcoin funds recorded roughly $760 million in net inflows, the largest single-day total since October. Fidelity’s Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC) led the pack, absorbing about $351 million, while Bitwise’s BITB and BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) also posted strong gains.


The momentum accelerated on Wednesday. Data from SoSoValue shows spot Bitcoin ETFs took in another $843.6 million, extending the positive streak to three consecutive days and bringing total inflows over that period to approximately $1.71 billion.


Eight of the 12 funds reported net inflows, with BlackRock’s IBIT alone drawing in $648 million, underscoring its dominance among institutional allocators.


Bitcoin’s price action reflected that renewed interest. After spending much of November and December trading below $92,000, BTC broke decisively higher this week, reclaiming the $94,000–$97,000 range and pushing toward $100,000.


The move triggered roughly $700 million in short liquidations, amplifying volatility and accelerating the rally, according to Bitcoin Magazine Data.


ETF flows have become a key barometer of institutional sentiment since spot products launched in early 2024. While cumulative inflows reached more than $56 billion by mid-January, flows turned negative in late December amid typical year-end caution.
