The Kingdom of Bhutan has trimmed its Bitcoin exposure by 70% in the past few months.

Arkham data showed that the country offloaded $18 million worth of BTC (250 coins) on the 10th of April. The move followed another 319.7 BTC sell-off, worth over $22 million on the 9th of April.

This week alone, Bhutan has sold over $40M in BTC.

So far in 2026, the country has dumped $215.7 million of BTC, effectively slashing its overall holdings to 3.77K BTC, up from the October 2024 peak of 13K BTC. That’s a 70% decline in BTC holdings in 18 months.

The rally in Bitcoin followed President Donald Trump’s announcement of a two-week ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran, which eased geopolitical tensions and boosted investor confidence in risk assets across global markets.
According to experts, Bitcoin Cash failed to keep pace with the overall crypto market gains, including Bitcoin, because it experienced profit-taking among holders after a period of consolidation around major technical levels. The price movement comes after a short-term corrective phase within a longer downtrend that has seen Bitcoin cash decline 21% year to date. Traders observed the token reversing from a support zone between $422.80 and $431.50 before facing resistance around $439.

This pattern shows that sellers remained active despite the positive macro environment sparked by the ceasefire news.

Argentina is slowly working to open its financial industry to crypto assets, moving to increase the recognition of cryptocurrency across all sectors of its economy.

The Argentine Securities and Exchange Commission (CNV) issued General Resolution 1125/2026, which establishes that virtual assets will be recognized as part of an individual’s worth for reaching the classification of a qualified investor in the country.
The resolution defines virtual assets as “any digital representation of value that can be traded and/or transferred digitally and used for payments or investments.” This means that cryptocurrencies, tokenized assets, and even stablecoins could be used as these assets.

The CNV argued that “the progressive incorporation of new asset classes—such as Virtual Assets—into investment portfolios renders their inclusion advisable for the purpose of demonstrating the required financial capacity, since they constitute an additional manifestation of the investor’s economic capacity and financial experience.”

Before, when investors disclosed their crypto holdings, these could not be accounted as part of the assets needed to reach the nearly $479,000 to enter this investment classification.
