The Bitcoin network is currently a ghost town as price is being controlled elsewhere Fees, mempool pressure, and on-chain demand are telling a different story beneath the price recovery.

Bitcoin's rebound to around $71,000 has reignited a familiar bullish conversation about price, liquidity, and positioning. It has also exposed a less comfortable fact inside the network itself.

The fee market has barely moved.

For a market that still treats on-chain congestion as a sign of organic demand, that divergence deserves more attention than another recap of macro tailwinds or ETF flow streaks.

On CryptoSlate's Bitcoin price page, BTC was last trading at $70,990 on April 9, down 0.86% over 24 hours, up 6.11% over seven days, and up 0.85% over 30 days.

Price has clearly recovered from the lower end of its recent range, while the base layer still looks calm, cheap, and uncrowded.

HSBC and Anchorpoint Financial gain first Hong Kong stablecoin issuer licenses
HSBC and Anchorpoint Financial have gained the first two stablecoin licenses in Hong Kong, the HKMA confirmed.

Anchorpoint Financial is a joint venture between Standard Chartered, Animoca Brands, and HKT.
The Hong Kong Monetary Authority has issued the region's first stablecoin licenses to HSBC and Anchorpoint Financial, a joint venture between Standard Chartered, Animoca Brands, and Hong Kong Telecommunications, the regulator confirmed on Friday.

Hong Kong had been expected to issue its first stablecoin licenses in Q1, with HSBC and Standard Chartered previously reported to be among the first recipients.

However, that deadline was missed, with the HKMA pushing applicants to refine application details regarding reserve asset disclosures, anti-money laundering controls, redemption mechanisms, and how they would perform under extreme stress scenarios, before granting approvals.

Ultimately, the inaugural recipients did not have to wait long, as The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited and Anchorpoint Financial Limited were listed as licensed stablecoin issuers on its Register of Licensees under the Stablecoins Ordinance, effective April 10.

"The granting of stablecoin issuer licences is an important milestone for the development of digital assets in Hong Kong," Eddie Yue, Chief Executive of the HKMA, said in a press release. "The regulatory regime provides an orderly operating environment for stablecoin issuers to apply innovative technologies while ensuring robust user protection and effective risk management, which will foster the development of a healthy, responsible, and sustainable stablecoin ecosystem." 

The companies intend to complete the necessary preparation work and launch business in the coming few months, according to the release.

Bitget Launches IPO Prime Market with Tokenized Access to SpaceX Shares Pre-IPO.
Bitget has launched IPO Prime, a subscription-based marketplace for tokenized pre-IPO investments, with preSPAX becoming the first SpaceX-related offering.

The product utilizes a tiered distribution model, allowing eligible users to apply for tokenized access to private company shares, the exchange announced.

Bitget, a Seychelles-based exchange, has launched IPO Prime, a new marketplace providing access to tokenized pre-IPO investments.

According to a company statement released Friday, the first offering under the product will be preSPAX, a digital asset tied to the economic performance of SpaceX, a private rocket company valued at $1.54 trillion on the Nasdaq Private Market secondary trading platform.

 IPO Prime, powered by Republic, operates on a subscription model, allowing eligible users to apply for access to tokenized offerings. Distribution limits vary based on user tier, with higher thresholds for more advanced VIP tiers, according to the statement. Once the subscription is complete, the digital assets are transferred to Bitget's OTC market for continuous trading.

Bitget CEO Gracie Chen stated that this product expands access to pre-IPO opportunities beyond institutional investors.

"IPO Prime allows users to participate in a company's development earlier in the process, providing the flexibility of continuous trading," Chen said in a statement. "This changes how and when investors engage with emerging companies, giving retail and new investors the opportunity to invest early. This is part of our larger shift to building UEX, which democratizes access to financial equality."
