This was followed closely by a $4.6 billion buy just one week earlier. In 2026 alone, the firm added over 56,000 BTC, largely funded through the issuance of its "Stretch" (STRC) dividend-paying preferred shares.
While these massive buys often trigger short-term market volatility—frequently followed by brief price dips—Saylor remains committed to "buying the top forever." While price action across major crypto assets has stayed relatively muted, capital has not remained idle. Instead, it has rotated into segments offering clearer short-term opportunities, with prediction markets standing out as a primary beneficiary.

Prediction markets allow users to trade on the outcome of future events, pricing probabilities in real time. Contracts tied to crypto outcomes-such as price targets or market milestones-have seen increased participation as traders seek alternative ways to express market views.

This shift has translated directly into rising liquidity as Total value locked (TVL), which reflects the capital committed to support bets and facilitate trading, has climbed from $199.57 million in early October to $511.12 million this week.

TVL effectively captures the amount of capital waiting for event resolution. Its sustained increase points to deeper liquidity, stronger participation, and a more active trading environment.

Despite the upward move, trading activity has cooled slightly, with 24-hour volume at around $406 million, down from earlier levels.

This suggests the latest rebound is being driven more by positioning and rotation rather than fresh capital inflows.

Recent strength in Zcash appears closely tied to selective market rotation rather than broad crypto momentum.

The asset has outperformed Bitcoin over the same timeframe, reinforcing the idea of “alpha-driven” demand, where traders are selectively targeting privacy-focused assets.
