Strategy shares surge above $170 amid Bitcoin price rebound
Strategy Inc., the company formerly known as MicroStrategy that has essentially become a publicly traded Bitcoin fund, saw its stock price climb near $170 on April 17. That’s a 15% daily jump that pushed shares decisively above the $160 level for the first time in weeks.

The move comes as Bitcoin itself recovers from a bruising dip to roughly $74K earlier this month. For a stock with a beta of 3.56 relative to Bitcoin, meaning it tends to amplify $BTC’s moves by more than three times, the rebound was predictably dramatic.
Here’s the thing about Strategy: it’s not really a software company anymore, despite what its legacy business might suggest. The company now sits on approximately 780,897 $BTC, valued at around $58.96 billion. That makes it the largest corporate Bitcoin holder on the planet by a wide margin.

The average cost per coin across that massive war chest is roughly $75,580. In English: at Bitcoin’s recent low of $74K, the entire position was briefly underwater. Not a comfortable place to be when you’re holding nearly $59 billion in a single asset.

Strategy didn’t just ride the dip out passively, either. The company scooped up an additional 4,871 $BTC in early April for approximately $330 million, paying around $67,718 per coin. That’s buying aggressively while the market was in freefall, a move that either looks genius or reckless depending on where Bitcoin goes next.

For context on just how fearful the market has been: the crypto Fear & Greed Index sat at 12, deep in “extreme fear” territory, for 47 consecutive days in early April. That’s nearly seven straight weeks of maximum pessimism. The last time the index lingered that low for that long was during the 2022 bear market.

Will XLM hit $0.1800 amid a surge in transaction activity?



Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) are currently trading in the red, but Ripple ($XRP) is outperforming the broader cryptocurrency market.

Stellar ($XLM) moves similarly to $XRP as they are both cross-border tokens. However, $XLM is currently outperforming $XRP as it is up 3.5% in the last 24 hours.

$XLM briefly hit the $0.169 level on Friday, after breaking above the descending trendline and rallying over 10% so far this week.

The bullish sentiment continues to increase as $XLM’s network transactions reach a quarterly high, alongside positive funding rates and bullish momentum indicators.

$XLM is one of the best performers among the top 20 cryptocurrencies by market cap. The positive performance comes amid improving on-chain data.

Chainspect, a blockchain fundamentals tracker, revealed that Stellar processed over 14.19 million transactions on Thursday, its highest level in the past quarter.

These surging transactions highlight increased interest and liquidity among traders in the $XLM, supporting a bullish outlook.

The improvement in $XLM’s on-chain data is also supported by retail demand from leveraged traders.

Data obtained from CoinGlass shows that $XLM’s funding rates have also flipped positive on Monday and read at 0.011% on Friday.

This shows that the longs are paying the shorts. Usually, when funding rates have turned positive and surged, the $XLM price has rallied sharply.

The futures Open Interest (OI) also reads $94.73 million on Friday, up from the $82 million recorded last week.

The increasing OI and the surging network activity could push $XLM’s price higher in the near term, with the bulls already targeting a 4-hour swing high.

According to data from Gate, the move marks a full reversal of the safe‑haven bid that drove the greenback higher when the U.S.–Iran conflict first erupted.

As tankers resumed passage through one of the world’s most critical oil chokepoints, positioning in currency markets flipped from defence to détente, with traders now pricing a durable ceasefire and negotiations toward a broader agreement. Jayati Bharadwaj, head of foreign exchange strategy at TD Securities, summed up the shift bluntly: “Safe-haven buying has begun to fade. That is the reason for the dollar’s decline.”

The dollar index had previously climbed as investors sought protection from the risk of supply disruption in the Strait of Hormuz, which handles roughly a fifth of global seaborne crude flows, pushing oil well above $100 per barrel at the height of the crisis. With the channel now reopened and headlines dominated by ceasefire mechanics rather than escalation, that conflict premium is rapidly being unwound across foreign‑exchange markets.

The conversation around real-world assets, or RWAs, got another boost today after the RWA Foundation argued that tokenization is moving from theory to infrastructure. In a post on X, the group said trillions of dollars in value from stocks, real estate, private credit, bonds, collectibles and commodities are being rebuilt on faster and more efficient rails, with the market still “barely getting started.”

The message was simple but bold: crypto is no longer just adding RWAs on the margins, it is starting to absorb the plumbing of traditional finance itself. At the heart of the post was a familiar promise that has become harder to dismiss. Tokenization, RWA Foundation said, is replacing limited access with global access, T+2 settlement with near-instant settlement, opaque structures with onchain transparency, and illiquid markets with programmable liquidity.

According to data, the tokenized asset sector continues to expand, with distributed asset value rising to $29.92 billion, up 9.64% over the past 30 days. Represented asset value now stands at $357.47 billion, while total asset holders have climbed to 728,287, up 4.84% from a month ago. The broader stablecoin market also remains massive, with total stablecoin value at $302.62 billion and 244.39 million stablecoin holders, both posting modest monthly growth. Ethereum remains the largest venue by a wide margin, with $15.5 billion in tracked RWA value, according to the data.
