The first invalid block appeared at height 4,487,776 at 15:44 UTC on August 7. Once the vulnerability was exposed on the production network, other attackers replicated the exploit and began generating their own invalid blocks. The project published a patch, but fixing the software does not revert what was already written on the chain.

Despite Ethereum’s [$ETH] prolonged price weakness, holders have continued moving more supply into staking rather than withdrawing. Total staked $ETH rose from roughly 36 million in early 2026 to a record 41.9 million, even as the dominant altcoin fell toward $1,800.

This steady increase suggests lower prices have not weakened the incentive to lock $ETH for yield. Since staking is absorbing additional Ethereum supply through this downtrend, it also reduces the immediate amount available for trading.

XRP price is facing fresh selling pressure, falling 3.44% to around $1 over the past 24 hours and extending its weekly loss to 6.4%. The drop comes as ETF demand slows, network activity cools, and heavy long liquidations add more pressure.

With U.S. inflation data approaching, traders are now watching whether XRP can defend $1.

XRP ETF Inflows Suddenly Stop

One of the main reasons behind today’s XRP price drop is the slowdown in spot XRP ETF demand.

According to Sosovalue, XRP ETFs recorded around $3.45 million in net inflows on August 6. However, the latest data shows zero daily net inflows on August 7 and August 10, pointing to weaker fresh buying demand.

The decline is also visible in total net assets, which fell from about $993.38 million on August 5 to $950.05 million on August 10.

With less money entering XRP ETFs, the market has less buying support during periods of heavy selling.

XRP Ledger Activity Drops 44%

XRP is also seeing weaker network activity. XRP Ledger transactions fell from around 2.81 million on August 5 to 1.57 million on August 9, marking a decline of about 44%. The drop suggests that network activity and demand have cooled in recent days.

$8.45M XRP Liquidations Hit Long Traders

The derivatives market has added another layer of pressure. According to CoinGlass data, around $8.45 million worth of XRP positions were liquidated over the past 24 hours. Long positions made up $8.25 million, or 97.55%, while short liquidations stood at just $207,044.

These forced closures increased selling and pushed the price lower, creating more pressure on other leveraged traders.

XRP Whales Are Still Buying the Dip

Despite the decline, XRP whales appear to be using the lower price levels to increase their holdings. Whales added around 380 million XRP in one week, taking their total holdings to roughly 8.1 billion tokens, or about 13% of the

Ethena’s $USDe has quickly become a major source of dollar liquidity on Robinhood Chain, growing from about $17 million a month ago to roughly $253 million, or close to 43% of the chain’s stablecoin supply, according to The Block.

The jump is notable because $USDe is more than a digital dollar. It is a synthetic dollar designed to maintain its value through crypto assets and offsetting derivatives positions. Its rapid growth on Robinhood Chain suggests some of the capital arriving on the network may be looking for more than a place to trade.

The trend is also indicative of a larger movement in the way that cryptocurrency investors have begun utilizing stable coins, using them not only as a medium of exchange between tokens but, instead, employing them as working capital for DeFi, collateral, and yield strategies.

A dollar base tilting toward yield
The Robinhood Chain is a Layer-2 network that is built on the Ethereum technology, allowing fast transaction times while also remaining permissionless. Robinhood developed the infrastructure for the use of tokenized stocks, various real-world assets, and other onchain financial applications, with ETH as the gas token.

Its expanding dollar base now encompasses both traditional and synthetic stablecoins. The USDG stablecoin, issued by Paxos, is aimed at achieving a dollar value through the reserves that back up the tokens. The process for $USDe is somewhat different. According to Ethena, it keeps the cryptoassets while reducing their price exposure via future contracts or perpetual contracts.

As such, the $USDe is considered a synthetic dollar rather than a traditional fiat collateralized stablecoin. Additionally, the risks associated with this digital asset are also quite different, including risks related to derivatives market liquidity, funding, custody, and trading, which are laid out in the corresponding documentation provided by Ethena.
