DOJ strikes at Huione Group infrastructure in bid to choke billions in crypto fraud flows
On June 23, the U.S. Department of Justice seized a cloud computing account used to power backend systems tied to Cambodia’s Huione Group, escalating a global push to disrupt crypto-enabled fraud laundering networks operating across messaging platforms and blockchain rails.

The move targeted infrastructure supporting Huione Guarantee, a Telegram-based marketplace alleged by U.S. authorities to have functioned as an escrow hub for laundering illicit cryptocurrency proceeds alongside trade in stolen financial data and other criminal services, according to DOJ filings.

The seizure comes amid rising cybercrime losses. U.S. victims reported $7.2 billion in cryptocurrency investment fraud in 2025, according to FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center data, within total cybercrime losses of $21 billion for the year.

The DOJ said blockchain intelligence firms Chainalysis and Elliptic, working with Google’s CyberCrime Investigation Team, assisted in the investigation.

DOJ hits Huione’s technical backbone

Huione Guarantee, also known as Haowang Guarantee, is a Telegram-operated marketplace alleged to have provided escrow services for crypto laundering, stolen financial data, identity credentials, and other criminal services, according to U.S. court documents and DOJ statements.

Elliptic previously reported that Huione evolved into a broader digital finance infrastructure, including a stablecoin called USDH, activity across Ethereum, BNB Chain, and Tron, and wallet and exchange-like services. In practice, the structure looked like a separate financial network operating outside regulated compliance systems.

The DOJ’s seizure focused on the cloud account supporting that infrastructure, rather than only wallets or individual bad actors. That matters because U.S. authorities are increasingly trying to disrupt the technical systems that allow fraud

CFTC sues Kentucky after state's prediction market lawsuits

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission has sued Kentucky, now the ninth state the regulator is battling in its fight over prediction markets. The US Commodity Futures Trading Commission filed a lawsuit against Kentucky on Tuesday after the state sued prediction market operators last week, accusing them of operating unlicensed and illegal gambling platforms.

The lawsuit, filed in federal court, seeks to block Kentucky's legal action against five prediction markets filed on Wednesday last week, calling for declaratory and injunctive relief. It names Kentucky Governor Andrew Beshear, Attorney General Russell Coleman and the Kentucky Horse Racing and Gaming Corporation, among others.

"Kentucky is the latest state attempting to shut down federally-regulated event contracts," CFTC Chair Mike Selig said in a statement. "As I've consistently pledged, the CFTC is firmly committed to maintaining its exclusive jurisdiction over prediction markets, and today's lawsuit against Kentucky is yet another example of the Commission protecting its federal interests."

The CFTC has been ramping up its effort to maintain authority over prediction markets since Selig was appointed as chair in December. Kentucky is now the ninth state that the CFTC has sued over state authorities taking action against prediction markets.

Dogecoin extended its bearish streak, breaching the $0.08 support level. In doing so, the memecoin dropped to a low of $0.079 for the first time in nearly three weeks.

As of this writing, Dogecoin traded at $0.07907, down 5.54% on the daily charts. With the recent price drop, the memecoin fell below the 9- and 21-day moving averages, validating this bearish structure.

Dogecoin rising liquidation sparks panic selling

After Dogecoin [$DOGE] dropped below $0.08, it sparked massive liquidations for leveraged positions.

According to CoinGlass data, $7.68 million worth of long positions were liquidated. Such high levels of liquidations showed that traders were bullish and expected the price levels to hold.

In addition to the forced exit, the price dip and liquidation caused fear, prompting traders to panic and close their positions.

Looking at the perpetuals, the Sell Volume surged to 1.3 billion while the Buy Volume dropped to 1.1 billion.

At the same time, the Net buying also remained negative, dropping to -1.1 billion. With sellers outpacing buyers, it suggests more perps positions closed.

The same market behavior was observed on the futures side. Over the past 24 hours, $460 million flowed out of futures compared to $413 million in Inflows.

As a result, the memecoin’s Futures Netflow dropped 459% to -$46 million, a clear sign of aggressive futures selling.

Is $DOGE at risk of further losses?

Dogecoin is experiencing strong bearish pressure, largely driven by the weakness in the Derivatives market. Examining the memecoin’s Relative Strength Index (RSI), this momentum indicator dropped into the oversold area.
