Ripple announced that the Luxembourg Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF) has issued a Green Light Letter granting preliminary CASP approval under the EU’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation. However, the approval is tentative, subject to meeting outstanding final conditions. 

Ripple had already acquired the EMI License in Luxembourg, and this additional milestone allows Ripple to start scaling its regulated cryptoasset services to other financial institutions and corporates across the entire European Economic Area (EEA).

The license comes during a week when institutional attention in Europe is unusually high as the MiCA CASP deadline looms. For Ripple, this milestone marks the end of a multi-year regulatory build-out that started with its registration of Ripple Payments Europe.

How Ripple benefits from EMI and CASP licenses 

The EMI license held by Ripple covers fiat-denominated electronic money services. It allows for regulated stablecoin payments, direct debit, and e-money issuance. On the other hand, the CASP layer covers crypto-asset exchange, transfer, and custody services under MiCA’s unified rulebook. 

With both licenses, Ripple can now handle the full spectrum in-house. The platform can now legally handle a customer sending euros by converting them into RLUSD or XRP, then routing the payment cross-border and issuing the local currency equivalent to the recipient.

Ripple Takes a Significant Step Towards Expanding Its Operations in the European Union Market! Here Are the DetailsRipple, a developer of blockchain-based payment solutions, has taken a significant step towards expanding its operations in the European Union market.

The company announced that it has received preliminary approval from the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF), Luxembourg's financial regulatory body, for a Crypto Asset Service Provider (CASP) license, which is required under the European Union's Crypto Asset Market Regulation (MiCA).

According to a statement by Ripple, the company will obtain a full CASP license after fulfilling the remaining requirements in the licensing process. This will allow Ripple to offer crypto asset services to financial institutions and businesses in 30 countries within the European Economic Area (EEA).

The company already holds an Electronic Money Institution (EMI) license in the European Union. Ripple management stated that the eventual approval of the CASP license would significantly expand their current regulatory authority and allow them to offer more comprehensive services to their customers in Europe.

With the acquisition of the full license, Ripple will be able to offer cryptocurrency and stablecoin-based payment infrastructures under one roof for banks, financial technology companies, and corporate clients. This is expected to particularly increase the company's competitiveness in the field of cross-border payments

This strategy revolves around using rental income from the real estate to purchase more Bitcoin. According to Cardone, such a strategy could potentially disrupt the traditional $4 trillion Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) industry. The traditional REIT model, which was established in the 1960s, is flawed today because it requires companies to distribute at least 90% of their taxable income as dividends to shareholders.

Crypto market selloff deepens as Warsh Fed and Iran uncertainty hit Bitcoin: Wintermute


Wintermute said crypto markets absorbed a risk reset before U.S. equities could fully respond, after the Federal Reserve held rates steady and U.S.-Iran talks lost momentum.

The market maker’s June 22 update said Bitcoin fell while stocks were still shielded by the Juneteenth market closure. It framed the move as a timing gap between always-open crypto trading and delayed equity price action.

Meanwhile, the Fed kept its target range at 3.50%-3.75%, but the message around policy changed. Wintermute said the statement became shorter, the easing bias disappeared, and officials moved closer to rate hikes than cuts.

The firm quoted the shift as one reason traders grew more cautious on Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other liquid crypto assets. At the same time, lower oil prices did not remove the rate concern, because markets focused on wider inflation pressure and a Fed that now sounded less willing to guide investors toward future cuts.

Crypto prices absorb the weekend shock

Bitcoin traded near the low $60,000s after rising close to $67,000 earlier in the week. Wintermute said $BTC closed down 3.8%, while Ethereum lost 1.2% and altcoins were roughly flat. The firm said the failed signing of the Iran deal forced crypto to price in risk while equity markets were closed.

The update described the move as another leverage flush. Long positions faced far larger losses than shorts, showing that traders had leaned too heavily toward a rebound. Wintermute said Ethereum gave the clearest weak signal after losing the $2,000 area again and moving toward the mid-$1,700s.
