TEHRAN, June 23 – According to a report by the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on June 23, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Nasser Kanaani stated at his weekly press conference in Tehran that Iran will decide how to use its unfrozen assets entirely based on national interests and without any restrictions. Earlier, some media speculated that, according to an agreement reached between Iran and the United States, the use of Iran's unfrozen funds might be restricted, possibly limited to purchasing specific goods, including American food. Kanaani refuted these claims, stating that "there are no restrictions in this regard." He added that regarding the purchase of goods, "relevant institutions such as the Iranian Ministry of Agriculture will make decisions based on price and quality." Kanaani also mentioned that the U.S.-issued license for the sale of Iranian crude oil, petrochemical products, refined products, and related services came into effect on June 22, and the same principle applies to the unfrozen Iranian assets. "Iran's previously frozen assets are now fully available and can be freely used according to its own priorities."
