If you’re wondering just how much lower bitcoin BTC$62,272.98 is likely to drop, the answer, at least according to one historically accurate contrarian indicator, is not much.

That's the conclusion from an indicator that might seem to signal a bearish shift in sentiment but has tended to presage a more bullish outlook.

The indicator is based on two moving averages: Bitcoin’s 50-week simple moving average (SMA) and the 100-week average. The 50-week average, representing roughly one year, is very close to dropping below the 100-week line. A shorter-term measure is often seen as a more accurate reflection of recent attitudes, so the cross would trigger what analysts call a "bear cross." At current trajectories, it could happen as soon as next week.

While that might sound scary to bulls, it is potentially positive news.

There have been three such bear crosses in bitcoin's history, and each marked a market bottom, signaling the end of a decline and the beginning of a three-year rally. The impending cross, therefore, suggests the bear market has nearly run its course and the bottom is near.

Critics would argue that three past instances aren't enough to draw a definite conclusion. While that is true, the contrarian record of the bear cross is consistent with the reputation of ultra-long-duration moving averages as "lagging" indicators.

While many altcoins have taken significant steps in this regard, a move has also come from the US.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Donald Trump signed two executive orders aimed at expanding the country’s quantum computing capabilities and accelerating the transition to quantum attack-resistant encryption technology.

According to the report, the US government aims to develop a scientifically significant quantum computer by 2028.

The first executive order aims to direct federal agencies, including the Department of Energy, to work with the private sector and academia to transition to quantum computing standards for scientific research by 2028.

According to the directive, the US government must transition cryptographic key systems used in large systems to post-quantum cryptography (PQC) by the end of 2030. Furthermore, digital signature systems must be replaced with PQC-based alternatives by the end of 2031.

XRP Trails XLM After DTCC News as $2 Price Target Draws Attention$XRP and Stellar’s $XLM are testing one of their longest-running market relationships after the two assets began moving at different speeds.

Both tokens have frequently followed similar price cycles, including major rallies, corrections, and extended consolidation periods. Analyst Bird’s latest chart, however, shows $XLM moving above its bearish structure while $XRP stays near the lower end of its range.

That difference has led traders to watch whether $XRP will eventually follow Stellar’s advance or whether the two assets are entering a period of genuine price decoupling.

$XLM Breakout Leaves $XRP Behind
The comparative chart shows $XRP and $XLM tracking one another closely through much of 2024 and 2025. Both recorded sharp gains late in 2024, reached local highs, and then moved through a prolonged decline as market momentum weakened.

Their paths began to separate near the latest lows. $XLM reacted strongly following recent DTCC-related news and moved above the descending structure that had controlled its price during the bear market.

$XRP has not produced the same breakout. It remains near the lower section of its wider range after struggling to hold previous recovery attempts.

The gap is notable since the two assets share a history in cross-border payments and were created by projects with overlapping origins. Market participants have therefore often traded them as related assets, even though their networks, token economics, and development strategies operate separately.

The committee also directly mandated the immediate start of final "trilogue" negotiations between European Union (EU) member states and the Parliament to hammer out the final law.

The vote ends three years of intense confrontations between central bankers and commercial lenders concerned over losing deposit revenue.

The main goal behind the deployment of a central bank digital currency (CBDC) is not just about modernizing payments, but to maintain the bloc’s autonomy of the monetary system. ECB Christine Lagarde has long-argued in favour of a CBDC to stave off the U.S. dollar-pegged stablecoin dominance in Tether’s USDT and Circle’s (CRCL) USDC.

Lagarde pushed back against public concerns over financial surveillance, asserting that cash isn't going anywhere, adding that between the digital euro and physical banknotes, "one does not exclude the other."

The EU has also pointed to nearly two-thirds of all card transactions in the eurozone being processed by non-European companies, mainly Visa (V) and Mastercard (MA).

That is the operating risk Altura exposed. Redemptions can look simple from the user side, while exchange withdrawals, private credit repayments, and RWA settlement windows can all run on different clocks.

MainStreet then said the shutdown of a third-party proof-of-reserves dashboard did not reflect asset loss or portfolio deterioration.

Altura's own caveat is just as important. The protocol said it had no exposure to MainStreet or its underlying strategies and described its HyperEVM lending vault, the related $USDT/AVLT market, and Ethereum-vault borrowers as unaffected by the MainStreet event.

Once users saw a verification provider walk away from one yield-bearing stablecoin product, the question moved from whether a neighboring protocol had exposure to whether any similar product could handle everyone asking for cash at once.

JustLend DAO adds U stablecoin lending market on TRONJustLend DAO has expanded its lending platform by launching support for supply and borrowing of U, a TRC-20 stablecoin pegged to the U.S. dollar.

According to a June 21 announcement, users can now deposit and borrow U directly on the protocol after the asset was added as a collateralizable market on June 20, 2026, Singapore time.

The launch follows a governance proposal that outlined the market’s lending parameters and interest rate structure.

The protocol said U is issued by United Stables and maintains its peg through reserves backed on a 1:1 basis. JustLend DAO described the asset as a stablecoin designed for digital commerce, machine-to-machine payments, and AI-focused financial applications on the TRON network.

U market launches with separate lending parameters
JustLend DAO said the U market opened with a collateral factor of 0% and a reserve factor of 10%. The collateral factor means users can borrow U on the platform, but cannot use U itself as collateral to obtain other loans at launch.

The protocol also introduced a jumping interest rate model for the market. Under the structure, borrowing costs rise sharply once utilization exceeds 80%.

JustLend DAO’s published parameters show borrow APY reaches 5% at 80% utilization before climbing to 42.5% at 90% utilization and 80% at full utilization.

Supply APY follows a similar trajectory, rising from 3.6% at 80% utilization to 34.43% at 90% utilization and 72% when utilization reaches 100%.

In a statement on X, JustLend DAO said the addition of U expands the range of stablecoin assets available on the platform and provides users with another source of on-chain liquidity.
