XRP Still Has a Very Bullish Market Structure as Price Finds Support Around Major 2021 Level
The current XRP downtrend may have lasted for a long time, but it still maintains a bullish long-term structure and could rebound considerably soon.

At the time of writing, XRP trades at $1.13. Barely one year ago, the coin made a new all-time high of $3.66, breaking its over 7-year peak price. Now, the 69% correction from that peak to the current level comes amid a prolonged price downtrend that has plagued the entire crypto market.
If the month closes as it stands, XRP would have dropped in 8 of the last 9 months, with the exception being the mild 2% increase recorded in April. This clearly reflects the current state of the market and how bears have dominated proceedings for a long time.

Nonetheless, higher timeframes paint a different picture. While the trend has been corrective for months, the 1-month chart shows that XRP still maintains a bullish structure. The asset has consistently made higher highs and higher lows since inception.

Even the current bear market has not broken this trend. As such, this downward push could be another higher low pattern where price retests key resistance-turned-support zones before another uptrend to new highs.

This consistent broader bullish structure continues to strengthen the narrative that the current prolonged decline could be temporary and part of a broader bullish picture, as long as the asset holds key price levels.

CFTC Opens Comment on 24/7 Energy Futures and Perpetual Oil ContractsThe CFTC asked the public to weigh in on running standard futures around the clock and on listing perpetual contracts tied to physically delivered energy commodities such as crude oil. The request opens the door to importing the crypto-native perpetual design into the oil and gas derivatives markets.

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission issued the request for comment Monday afternoon, organizing it around two questions. The first asks how standard futures, including energy futures, would function on a 24/7 schedule with no change to their fixed expiration, delivery, or settlement terms. The second asks what happens when perpetual contracts reference physically delivered or storable energy commodities. Comments are due within 30 days of the notice's publication in the Federal Register, per the CFTC release.

The filing is a request for comment, a procedural step that gathers input ahead of any rulemaking rather than a proposed rule with regulatory text attached. The agency says it "intends to use the information and comments received to inform its understanding of these developments."

Selig's Innovation Pledge
Chairman Michael Selig framed the move as supporting new market designs without loosening guardrails. "As registered entities extend trading hours and introduce new contract designs, a clear, target="__blank" rel="noopener noreferrer ">said in the release. He added that the request "reflects the Commission's commitment to supporting responsible innovation, while preserving the protections against manipulation and market disruption that participants and the public rely on."

Ethereum recruits top researchers as Joe Lubin backs EthlabsEthereum has added a new independent research organization backed by Joe Lubin, Bitmine, and Sharplink, bringing together five former Ethereum Foundation researchers.

According to an announcement from Ethlabs, the newly launched nonprofit research group has secured support from Bitmine, Sharplink, Anchorage, Octant, SNZ, and other Ethereum ecosystem participants.

The organization did not disclose how much funding it has received.

Founded by former senior Ethereum Foundation researchers Ansgar Dietrichs, Barnabé Monnot, Caspar Schwarz Schilling, Josh Rudolf, and Julian Ma, Ethlabs has been created as an independent institution focused on technical research for the Ethereum network. The group said its work will cover areas including settlement speed, network capacity, native asset issuance, cross-chain interoperability and Ethereum's monetary design.

The launch comes as Ethereum's development ecosystem increasingly relies on independent organizations alongside the Ethereum Foundation.

Ethlabs said the structure gives researchers a dedicated home with long-term funding while allowing them to continue working on core protocol issues.

Chainlink launched APAC Equities Streams on Monday, an oracle feed that brings pricing for large Asia-Pacific companies on-chain. It starts with Japan and Korea, with more regional markets slated to follow.

The streams went live Monday afternoon, Chainlink said on its official X account. They cover the region's largest listed names, including Samsung, SK Hynix, Toyota, Sony and SoftBank. Developers can use the feeds to build on-chain markets around those equities, the company said, with fast pricing data positioned as the foundation for moving global stock markets on-chain.

Asian Trading Hours
The feeds target a set of on-chain products that have been expanding through 2026. Chainlink listed equity perps, spot markets, prediction markets, structured products and risk-management strategies as the markets the new streams can support.

The pitch is timezone coverage. Tokenized-equity activity has clustered around U.S. names, leaving Asian large-caps thinly served during their own trading hours. Pricing Samsung or Toyota on-chain lets builders run derivatives and prediction markets keyed to Asian companies without waiting for U.S. market data to act as a proxy.
