Iran Refutes U.S. Claims on IAEA Access

On June 23, CNN reported that Iran stated on Monday it would continue to cooperate with the United Nations nuclear watchdog "according to existing procedures." This came after a senior U.S. official claimed that Tehran had agreed to allow International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspectors to return to Iran, which Iran denied. The Islamic Republic News Agency quoted Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Baghaei as saying that Iran's interactions with the IAEA would be conducted "in accordance with Iran's obligations under the safeguards agreement" and "in line with the resolutions passed by the parliament and the decisions of the Supreme National Security Council."
