In other words, $XRP is moving with the market, not against it. As one analysis put it, the selling looks more like a risk-off rotation than a token-specific event.

How Far Has $XRP Price Fallen, and Where Are the Lows?

$XRP's descent through 2026 has been fairly orderly rather than a single dramatic crash. The decline began in January following a brief rally to $2.41. By early February, the price had fallen to around $1.11, then consolidated within a narrow $1.27–$1.67 range from mid-February to mid-May before resuming its slide.

That early-February low near $1.11–$1.12 is exactly where $XRP trades today — the 2026 YTD low that buyers now have to defend, with little technical cushion between here and the round-number $1.00 mark.

Hyperliquid's HYPE, the standout gainer all week, fell hardest at 7.2% to $69, though it remains up about 28% over seven days. Tron was the lone major in the green, up 0.9%.

The driver was the Fed. It left rates unchanged at 3.5% to 3.75%, in line with expectations, but its updated projections pointed to higher inflation and a slower pace of future rate cuts, and some officials floated the possibility that rates may still need to rise.It was the first decision under new Chairman Kevin Warsh, who said there had been rigorous debate before the vote and vowed the central bank would deliver price stability. A more hawkish Fed means tighter financial conditions, which tend to drain the liquidity that fuels risk assets like crypto.

Stocks took the week's news better, helped by a separate development. President Donald Trump signed an interim deal to end the war with Iran and reopen the Strait of Hormuz, putting the agreement into effect.

S&P 500 futures rose as much as 0.9% and Nasdaq futures gained 1.5%, while Brent crude fell toward $78 a barrel. Crypto did not catch that bid, a sign it is trading more on the Fed than on the geopolitical relief for now

BPI calls CLARITY Act ‘illicit finance-friendly’

A leading U.S. banking industry group has criticized the CLARITY Act’s approach to anti-money laundering compliance. It argues that the proposed crypto market structure bill leaves significant gaps across decentralized finance and other digital asset services.

In a policy update published on June 19, the Bank Policy Institute [BPI] said the legislation would create a “lighter-touch AML regime” by applying anti-money laundering obligations only to certain digital asset brokers, dealers, and exchanges, while leaving other parts of the crypto ecosystem outside the framework.

“This bill is not innovation-friendly; it is illicit finance-friendly,” the organization wrote.

The comments come as lawmakers continue debating the CLARITY Act, one of the most significant crypto market structure proposals currently under consideration in Washington.
