Unlike regular sub-accounts, AI sub-accounts do not support password login; instead, they authenticate via API keys, allowing AI assistants to securely execute trades, manage positions, and transfer funds.
Here are a few designs that I find quite practical:
✅ Default asset limit is only $5,000, allowing for adjustable risk exposure
✅ Withdrawal function is turned off by default to prevent funds from being directly transferred out
✅ API keys automatically expire after 30 days by default, reducing long-term authorization risks
✅ The main account can set leverage, fund transfers, trading permissions, and other granular controls
More importantly, you can assign different accounts to different AI Agents.
For example, let ChatGPT handle market analysis, Cursor run strategies, and Claude Code manage automated execution, all operating independently without affecting the security of the main account's assets.
As AI Agents gradually transition from "chat tools" to "execution tools," more and more trading activities may be completed by AI in the future. The AI sub-account essentially serves as a secure sandbox connecting AI with the exchange.
For users who want to try AI automated trading without directly exposing their main account funds, this may currently be a reasonable solution.
