Ripple ($XRP) maintains a neutral-to-bullish tone, trading above $1.41 at the time of writing on Thursday, supported by renewed institutional and retail interest. A steady price increase could accelerate the remittance token toward the next resistance levels at $1.50 and $1.55.

Still, traders should temper their expectations, given that the immediate supply around $1.41 could absorb the gains.

$XRP growing institutional and retail interest boosts recovery outlook

Institutional investors are showing renewed interest in digital investment products, evidenced by US-listed $XRP spot Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs) recording approximately $17 million in inflows on Wednesday, up from roughly $11 million the previous day.

Cumulative inflows currently stand at $1.25 billion, with net assets under management averaging $1.02 billion, according to SoSoValue data. If inflows into the spot ETFs continue , prices could steadily increase, with $XRP grinding toward the $1.50 psychological level.

Similarly, retail demand has expanded this week, steadying the $XRP derivatives market. The Open Interest (OI), reflecting the notional value of outstanding futures and options contracts, rose to $2.58 billion on Thursday from $2.51 billion the previous day. The return of retail investors, albeit gradual, suggests growing conviction in $XRP’s ability to sustain upward price action in the short- to medium-term.

Qubic has moved its Dogecoin mining rollout into phase 2, a step that begins redirecting miner economics away from Monero and toward DOGE-linked rewards. For Qubic, the change matters because phase 2 is where the migration stops being a live test and starts becoming a real incentive shift.

In an April 15 Discord update shared on X by community member Rayyan, Qubic tech lead Joetom said phase 2 began with epoch 209 and that, from this point, “each computor can operate in either legacy XMR mode or Doge mode.” He added: “For every computor index, only one contribution is counted: max(XMR, DOGE). This effectively replaces XMR participation if Doge yields a higher contribution. No dual counting.”

Qubic Activates Dogecoin Phase 2
The move lines up with the transition plan Qubic published ahead of launch. In its March 27 rollout note, the team described a three-phase migration from XMR to DOGE. Phase 1 was a testing period in which XMR revenue remained intact while Dogecoin mining ran on mainnet in a non-rewarded validation mode.

Phase 2 was framed as the decision point, where computors could opt into DOGE rewards while XMR began phasing out. Phase 3 is the end state: XMR removed, DOGE running at full production, and Qubic’s CPU and GPU resources returned to full-time AI training.

That broader architecture is central to Qubic’s pitch. Under the old model, the network alternated between Monero hashing and AI-related work. With Dogecoin, Qubic says the jobs can run in parallel because DOGE mining relies on Scrypt ASICs, while the network’s AI training stack runs on CPUs and GPUs. The result, in Qubic’s telling, is a cleaner division of labor and a path toward running both workstreams at full capacity rather than splitting general-purpose compute between them.

The Ethereum Foundation said it funded a six-month project that exposed 100 North Korean operatives who had infiltrated Web3 companies under fake identities.
The foundation on Thursday shared a recap of its ETH Rangers program, which was launched in late 2024 to provide "stipends for individuals doing public goods security work" within the ecosystem.
One of the recipients used the capital to build the Ketman Project to focus on investigating “fake developers” embedded within crypto, particularly operatives from the People's Republic of Korea.
During the six-month stipend period, the Ketman Project identified "100 different DPRK IT workers operating within Web3 organizations" and reached out to about 53 projects to alert them about having potentially employed active DPRK operatives.
"This work directly addresses one of the most pressing operational security threats facing the Ethereum ecosystem today," the Ethereum Foundation said.
North Korean operatives have been plaguing the crypto sector, leading to billions worth of crypto stolen over the years. One of the highest-profile hacking groups from North Korea is known as the Lazarus Group.
