Polymarket’s five-minute and 15-minute crypto markets have passed $4 billion in total volume, while the first week of trading brought in more than $200 million, according to reports tied to a Chainlink post. The same data put average daily volume at $153 million after the integration.

Short Trades Draw Fast Turnover
The jump followed Polymarket’s use of Chainlink data feeds in its short-duration crypto markets. The platform now relies on those feeds to support live pricing in markets that move every five or 15 minutes.

Chainlink said in a post on April 8 that Polymarket’s average daily volume had climbed to $153 million, or roughly 3x the level seen before the integration. The post also pointed to more than $4 billion in total volume across the short-term markets and more than $200 million in the first week of the 5-minute products.

Chainlink Data Sits At The Center
The report ties that activity to the need for quick, reliable market data. It says Chainlink’s role is to supply secure outside information so outcomes can be settled against live prices instead of stale feeds. In that setup, speed matters. So does trust.

The coverage also says the faster markets have pulled in both retail and institutional traders. Larger participation has helped liquidity, and the short windows appear to have made the product feel more active for users watching small price moves in real time.

Circle has responded to recent criticism over its handling of illicit fund flows. It argues that it cannot freeze assets without legal authorization, following scrutiny tied to the Drift Protocol exploit.

In a blog post published on 10 April, the company said its ability to freeze USDC is “not discretionary,” but instead depends on lawful orders from relevant authorities.

The statement comes days after an on-chain report alleged more than $420 million in compliance lapses linked to delayed or absent freezes.

“Freezing is a legal obligation, not a discretionary tool”
Circle pushed back on the idea that it can act unilaterally to block funds, stating that USDC operates within U.S. and European regulatory frameworks.

According to the company, freezing assets requires a formal legal process. Also, acting outside those constraints could undermine property rights and financial privacy.

The distinction is central to its response: while the technology enables blacklisting, Circle maintains that the decision to act must come from law enforcement or the courts, not the issuer itself.

Drift exploit brought response times into focus
The clarification follows criticism tied to the 1 April exploit of Drift Protocol, during which over $270 million was reportedly drained.

Reports claimed that more than $230 million in USDC was bridged across chains during the incident without being frozen. The event raised questions about how quickly issuers can respond in fast-moving exploit scenarios.

The report also cited past incidents — including Cetus, Mango Markets, and Nomad — where USDC-linked funds were allegedly frozen late or not at all.

Circle’s response does not directly address specific cases. Instead, it reframes the issue as a legal constraint rather than an operational failure.

Publicly traded Bitcoin mining firm Cango (NYSE: CANG) has joined the list of major players using their BTC holdings to manage debt and pivot to Al investments.

On Wednesday, the firm announced that it sold 2000 BTC in March, calling it a "strategic de-leveraging" to retire its BTC-backed loans.

The firm added that it raised $75 million and that some of the proceeds from the "strategic de-leveraging" will help drive its diversification.

This de-leveraging, combined with recent capital infusions, strengthens Cango's balance sheet to support its planned transition into energy and Al infrastructure.

Bitcoin hashrate drops as Cango, other miners pivot to Al

Now, the firm holds 1,025.69 BTC. Interestingly, Cango said that its aggressive lean operations have helped reduce its BTC production costs by 19% in Q1. For perspective, in Q4 2025, its cost of production for 1 unit of BTC was $84.5K. By March 2026, this dropped to $68.2K.

While this is a great improvement, the miner would still be in distress if BTC's price falls below $68K. In such a scenario, it could be forced to liquidate more of its BTC holdings to stay afloat.

From this backdrop, the growing trend of public miners rushing to Al infrastructure ventures to maximize their compute power for extra revenues makes sense.

Avalanche transactions hit a 2026 high of 3.5 mln: Can AVAX reach $10 again?

Avalanche has experienced a massive surge in on-chain activity and network usage. According to Nansen, Avalanche’s daily transactions have surged to 3.5 million, the highest level in the past year.

Such a massive jump in transactions indicated growing network usage. Over this period, the network’s active addresses went from 100K for most of 2025 to a new floor of 500K to 700K.

Nansen noted three major factors that primarily drove this network growth. Firstly, Grayscale launched GAVA, an $AVAX staking ETF on Nasdaq, creating a link for institutional investors.

Secondly, the SEC and CFTC classified $AVAX as a digital commodity, thus bringing regulatory clarity. Finally, Broadridge brought proxy voting on-chain, allowing on-chain building.

When active addresses and transactions rise in tandem, it suggests strengthening fundamentals through real usage rather than speculation.

In fact, the network has seen a surge in real users, as evidenced by the Sybil and Non-Sybil metrics. This metric showed that non-Sybil users have climbed from 5k to 49k over the past four months.

Therefore, network growth is driven by actual, unique users, while bot activity declines significantly. Traditionally, increased network activity has supported price growth.

Technical and onchain indicators hint at a possible trend reversal in XRP price as traders watch to see if a key support level holds.XRP (XRP) has been in an eight-month downtrend, with momentum and onchain indicators at levels that previously coincided with macro bottoms.

Data from TradingView reveals that the relative strength index (RSI) of the XRP/BTC ratio is at 24, the most oversold level since October 2025. 

Such low levels in the daily RSI have marked market bottoms for the ratio, ultimately leading to 65% to 345% XRP price breakouts against Bitcoin as seen late 2024 and 2025.
The chart above also shows that the XRP/BTC pair is trading within a long consolidation range, which has previously acted as a strong launching pad for the ratio.

The last time XRP bottomed against Bitcoin around this zone was in June 2025. It marked the beginning of a 61% increase in the XRP/BTC ratio, accompanying a 92% XRP price rally to a multi-year high of $3.66.

Other instances shown by the yellow bars in the chart reinforce the reliability of this level in marking macro bottoms for XRP/BTC. 

MVRV Z-Score suggests XRP price is bottoming

XRP’s MVRV Z-score is hovering near zero, a level that historically aligns with accumulation zones and market bottoms.

This indicates that most holders are close to breakeven, reducing sell pressure and signalling potential downside exhaustion. Similar patterns appeared in 2021, 2022 and 2024 before major rallies.

Note that the last time XRP’s MVRV Z-score fell to similar levels in late 2024 coincided with a macro market bottom at $0.30 and preceded a multi-month rally, with the XRP/USD pair rising 500% to a multi-year high above $3. 

Meanwhile, the 0.80 MVRV pricing band, which has historically marked cycle bottoms, is currently at $1.14, coinciding with a 15-month low reached on Feb. 6.
