The war in the Middle East continues to pressure global markets as Oil prices remain elevated above $103 for the West Texas Intermediate (WTI). Trump said that the US military could strike Iran’s energy infrastructure and bridges if the Strait of Hormuz is not opened before the deadline.

Meanwhile, weak sentiment has remained dominant across the crypto market since the war began in late February. The Fear & Greed Index has steadied at 11 on Monday and Tuesday, indicating extreme fear. According to Alternative data, the index is down from 14 on average last week but slightly up from 10 recorded in March.

US Leads Mining Share as Global Bitcoin Hashrate Falls 5.8% Quarter-on-Quarter
Bitcoin global computing power has declined noticeably in early 2026, signaling mounting financial pressure across the mining sector.

Specifically, according to the Hashrate Index report, the network’s 30-day average hashrate fell to 1,004 EH/s in Q2 2026, down from 1,066 EH/s in the previous quarter. This marks a 5.8% decline, the sharpest contraction seen in several quarters.

This pullback coincides with a steep decline in Bitcoin’s price, which slid from $126,000 in October 2025 to $65,000 by February 2026, directly eroding mining revenues.

Consequently, profitability has deteriorated significantly. Hashprice, a key measure of miner earnings, has dropped to a record low of $27.89 per PH/s per day, underscoring the severity of the downturn.

The Bitcoin network hashrate declined 5.8% to 1,004 EH/s in Q2 2026, signaling weakening mining activity and sector-wide financial stress.

A sharp price collapse in Bitcoin from ~$126K to ~$65K has severely reduced mining revenues.

At press time, the BTC/USDT Order Book showed $32 million in buy orders, 2% below the current price and $22 million in sell orders, 2% above.

This means there’s more buying support below than selling pressure above.

In simple terms, traders are more inclined to buy on dips than sell on rallies.

Meanwhile, institutional flows into BTC were picking up, with nearly $2 billion pouring into ETFs this week alone.


Notably, this reinforces the divergence highlighted by AMBCrypto.

Retail is still playing it safe, while smart money and institutions are stacking positions aggressively. At the same time, Bitcoin’s STH NUPL was 0.3 down from the previous day, showing weak hands are shaking out.

However, as long as bid support keeps building underneath, Bitcoin looks set to smash through the $116k supply wall.

Once that cracks, FOMO could push a quick retest of $120k in the near term.
