TD Cowen cuts Strategy price target to $350, initiates coverage of Sharplink, Strive, Nakamoto and Smarter Web with buy ratings
TD Cowen cut its Strategy price target by 20.5% to $350, citing weaker bitcoin assumptions and a revised valuation for future dollar BTC gains.

The firm simultaneously initiated buy-rated coverage of digital asset treasury firms Sharplink, Strive, Nakamoto Holdings, and The Smarter Web Company.

TD Cowen reduced its price target on Strategy (MSTR) to $350, a 20.5% cut from the prior $440, while holding its buy rating on the largest publicly traded corporate holder of bitcoin. The investment bank also added coverage of four smaller digital asset treasury firms, assigning buy ratings to each.

In a note to investors on Thursday, TD Cowen analysts Lance Vitanza and Jonathan Navarrete attributed the revised Strategy price target to a "lower bitcoin price deck" and a reduction in the valuation multiple applied to the company's projected bitcoin gains. 

The analysts project Strategy's "BTC gain" at $7.87 billion for fiscal year 2026, down from $10.17 billion in 2025, though their investment thesis remains rooted in the company's ability to convert market appetite for volatility into bitcoin on an "effectively leveraged basis."

Strategy, which transitioned from an enterprise software focus to a bitcoin treasury model in 2020, currently holds a net debt of $5.94 billion and has a market capitalization of $41.88 billion, according to TD Cowen. The Tysons Corner, Virginia-based company holds 766,970 BTC acquired at an average price of $75,700 per BTC, The Block’s data dashboard shows. 

TD Cowen's base case for Strategy assumes bitcoin reaches $140,000 by December 2026, with the company acquiring about $5 billion in bitcoin per quarter.

Coinbase reported $1.35 billion in stablecoin revenue in 2025, largely related to its USDC distribution agreement with Circle; Provisions excluding stablecoin yield could deprive the exchange of approximately $800 million in annual revenue, making the issue a key financial matter rather than a policy objection. CEO Brian Armstrong first withdrew his support in January, stating, "We'd rather have no bill than a bad bill." A second formal withdrawal of the bill, reported by Punchbowl News around March 25, followed a revised draft that further tightened rather than weakened the yield language. As TheStreet reported, Coinbase representatives told Senate offices that the exchange cannot yet support the latest version, citing serious concerns about the stablecoin yield language.
