В недавней публикации на X платформа анализа блокчейна Glassnode отметила, что соотношение реализованной прибыли/убытка за 90 дней было ниже 1. Это означает, что за последние три месяца средний держатель продавал биткоины с убытком.

Это представляет собой «полный переход к режиму чрезмерной реализации убытков», говорится в публикации. Крайне высокие значения страха и коррелированные с ними распродажи указывали на одно и то же. Любая жадность на рынке была искоренена.

Но это еще не все. Подобные экстремальные фазы с показателем ниже 1, как правило, сохраняются в течение шести месяцев. Как только коэффициент реализованной прибыли/убытка снова поднимается выше 1 и остается на этом уровне, инвесторы могут воспринять это как «сигнал к покупке» в блокчейне.

Чистая нереализованная прибыль/убыток биткоина снижается с октября 2025 года. Этот показатель отражает общую сумму прибыли/убытка по всем монетам, представленную в виде коэффициента. Чем ниже он падает, тем меньше давления на биткоин со стороны фиксации прибыли.

Bitcoin [BTC] continued its streak of bearish days on Tuesday, the 24th of February. It was down 4.58% in the past 24 hours, and the Crypto Fear and Greed Index fell to 5. This was an extremely low reading, last seen in 2019.

Ethereum [ETH] also posted losses, spurred by co-founder Buterin’s selling. The synchronized selling seen for the two leading crypto assets highlighted the risk-off sentiment, traders reducing exposure, and investors exiting the market.

More Bitcoin is sold at a loss than at a profit
In a recent post on X, blockchain intelligence platform Glassnode pointed out that the 90-day realized profit/loss ratio was below 1. This meant that for the past three months, the average holder was selling Bitcoin at a loss.

This represented a “full transition to a regime of excess loss-realizing”, the post read. The extreme fear values and correlated sell-offs pointed to the same thing. Any greed in the market has been wiped out.

But that is not all. These kinds of extreme phases with a reading of under 1 tend to be sustained for six months. Once the realized profit/loss ratio climbs back above 1 and stays there, investors can take it as an onchain “buy signal”.

The Bitcoin Net Unrealized Profit/Loss has been falling since October 2025. The metric indicates the total amount of profit/loss in all the coins, represented as a ratio. The lower it falls, the less pressure there is on Bitcoin from profit-taking.

By itself, it does not give a buy signal for Bitcoin unless the ratio falls below 0. In this situation, the market cap is less than the realized cap- another sign that investors were facing losses on average.

The further the market cap falls from the realized cap, the more motive there would be for value buyers to enter the market.

For years, the crypto industry argued that institutional adoption would drive price momentum and prevent major crashes.

Currently, that narrative appears broken as the market is not just slowing; it is showing signs of deep struggle.

Crypto market tests hard waters

As per an analyst, in the past 140 days, more than $2 trillion in value has been wiped out. The total crypto market cap has shrunk sharply. Bitcoin [BTC] has fallen to around $63,228, nearly 50% below its peak as of writing.

Ethereum [ETH] was trading near $1,825, down about 62% from its high. The biggest damage, however, is in altcoins. Solana [SOL] has dropped around 68%, and many smaller tokens have lost up to 90% of their value.

Instead of fear and greed, the market now feels exhausted and defeated. This feels bigger than a normal correction.

The Negative Streak in Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs Has Ended! Here’s All the Data

Spot ETFs, a key indicator of institutional interest in cryptocurrency markets, have turned positive again. According to SoSoValue data, Bitcoin spot ETFs recorded a net inflow of $684 million in total. This ended the five-day streak of net outflows and signaled a renewed recovery in the market.

The highest daily net inflow was seen in BlackRock’s IBIT Bitcoin ETF. IBIT received $159.2 million in investment in a single day, bringing the fund’s total net inflow to date to $629 billion. In second place was Grayscale’s Bitcoin Mini Trust ETF, BTC. The BTC fund saw a one-day inflow of $77.4 million, raising its historical total net inflow to $196 billion.

On the other hand, the fund that experienced the largest outflow on the same day was Bitwise’s BITB ETF. Despite a $109.6 million outflow from BITB, the fund’s total net inflow remains at $2.16 billion. At the time of writing, the total net asset value of Bitcoin spot ETFs was $113.5 billion, representing approximately 6.48% of Bitcoin’s total market capitalization. The all-time cumulative net inflow reached $565 billion.

A similar recovery is observed on the Ethereum side. After four days of net outflows, Ethereum spot ETFs recorded a total net inflow of $117 million on the same day.

Ethereum spot ETFs have a total asset value of $176 billion, representing approximately 5.03% of the market, while historical net inflows have exceeded $124 billion. Experts note that these inflows into ETFs for both assets indicate a renewed strengthening of institutional confidence.

Cornerstone Research says the US Securities and Exchange Commission launched 33 crypto-related lawsuits last year, down from 47 in 2023.

The US Securities and Exchange Commission’s crypto-related enforcement actions dropped by 30% in the last year under former Chair Gary Gensler, a report has found.

The agency launched just 33 crypto-related actions in its last year under Gensler, compared to 47 actions the year prior in what was its peak enforcement year, Cornerstone Research said in a Jan. 23 report. 

The SEC charged a total of 90 defendants or respondents in crypto enforcement actions last year, which comprised 57 individuals and 33 firms.

There was also a marked drop in administrative proceedings, which fell by more than 50%. Monetary penalties imposed against crypto industry participants reached a record high of almost $5 billion in 2024, carried by the SEC’s $4.5 billion settlement with Terraform Labs.

Gensler, who was appointed by Joe Biden in 2021, stepped down as SEC chair on Jan. 20 with Donald Trump entering the White House.

Cornerstone said over half of the SEC’s enforcement actions in 2024 were in September and October, with only four actions initiated after the US elections in November.
