While broader crypto market sentiment has shown signs of recovery, Dogecoin has struggled to maintain upward momentum, leaving traders closely watching key support levels.

DOGE Trades Within a Descending Triangle Structure
The weekly chart shows that Dogecoin price has been trading inside a descending triangle pattern, a formation that typically signals a continuation of the prevailing trend unless a strong breakout occurs. The pattern began to form after DOGE peaked near $0.45 in early 2025. Since then, the asset has consistently printed lower highs, creating a descending resistance trendline that continues to cap bullish attempts.

At the same time, price action has been gravitating toward the $0.09–$0.10 support zone, which has emerged as a critical level for buyers. As the triangle structure tightens, volatility has been gradually declining. Such compression phases often precede sharp directional moves, making the current price region particularly important for the market.

Technical indicators currently suggest that bearish momentum remains dominant. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) is hovering near the 34 level, indicating that selling pressure is still present. While the indicator is approaching oversold territory, it has yet to show a clear reversal signal.

Bitcoin steady near $70,000 as rising open interest hints at cautious, bearish positioni

Bitcoin $BTC$70,252.74 traded recently around $70,100, down 0.1% since midnight UTC.

The largest cryptocurrency has been trapped in a tight trading range between $71,700 and $69,000 for the past 48 hours as volatility begins to wane despite continued conflict in the Middle East.

Oil rose back toward $100 per barrel on Thursday after a sixth ship was reportedly attacked by Iran on the Strait of Hormuz, adding to concerns about global energy supply.

The crypto market, however, remains relatively unperturbed; Hyperliquid's $HYPE token continued its ascent toward $40, adding 2.5% since midnight while MORPHO, ETHFI, and XMR all posted gains.

U.S. stock futures continued to show weakness with the Nasdaq 100 and S&P 500 index futures both losing around 0.6% overnight. The Dollar Index (DXY) moved back toward 100 after Wednesday's CPI figures, putting a stop to any potential rate cuts.

Derivatives positioning

Crypto futures open interest (OI) has increased by 2% to $102 billion in the past 24 hours.

OI in bitcoin and ether rose by 2% and 4%, respectively, while annualized perpetual funding rates and cumulative volume delta (CVD) have remained flat to negative. This suggests that the recent build-up in open interest is being driven more by defensive, bearish positioning than by aggressive long-side bets.

Decentralized exchange Hyperliquid's $HYPE token has gained 9% in 24 hours, extending the recent bull run. The rally, however, has yet to galvanize demand for leveraged bets, as evidenced by futures OI, which remains steady near multimonth lows of about 40 million $HYPE.

VanEck: Bitcoin Miners Strike Gold Amid Al Energy Shortage

The shift towards energy supply for Al is turning bitcoin miners' stocks into some of the most attractive assets in the industry, according to Matthew Sigel, head of digital assets at VanEck, in an interview with CNBC stated.

"They are aggressively diversifying their capacities to serve the Al market, yet they trade at a significant discount to other data centre operators in terms of capitalisation per megawatt," he explained.

According to the expert, miners were among the first to recognise the value of their resources amid high demand from Al developers.

Infrastructure initially built for cryptocurrency mining has proven to be a suitable base for hosting the computational power of the new market. Sigel cited Core Scientific as an example of transformation. In early March, the miner announced plans to sell most of its bitcoin reserves by the end of the first quarter.

When oil surged on March 9, investors began pricing in the possibility that renewed energy inflation would delay Federal Reserve rate cuts, tightening the financial conditions that have supported risk assets throughout this cycle.

However, the current oil selloff unwound a portion of that positioning and gave Bitcoin buyers a cleaner entry point.
