Speaking at a press conference in Seoul and in comments reported by DL News and local outlets, Allaire said he does not “believe Circle would issue a Korean won stablecoin,” but stressed that the company is closely watching pending legislation and is ready to expand “within the local compliance framework” if the rules open the door to global firms. Allaire’s stance reflects a strategic split between issuance and infrastructure. He has argued that a won‑denominated stablecoin is needed and should be linked with Circle’s dollar‑backed USDC, but insists that the actual KRW token will likely come from a consortium of Korean banks, fintechs and digital‑asset companies rather than Circle itself. “We may find ways to partner with Korean won issuers, and to be supportive of these emerging consortiums as they look to build Korean digital currencies,” he said, positioning Circle as a technology provider rather than a direct competitor to domestic issuers. On X, analyst Michaël van de Poppe said there had been “great momentum on altcoins over the past week” and added that with the VIX still low, Bitcoin showing momentum, and indices printing new highs, he “wouldn’t assume that this stops.”

For $ARB specifically, van de Poppe said that if a correction comes, and he added that he doubted it, the market would likely see a buy-the-dip formation and then continue toward $0.16. His chart showed a recovery structure with a green support box under price and a highlighted resistance zone above, implying he still sees room for continuation if the broader altcoin environment stays constructive.

Analyst Keeps Bullish View on $ARB

Van de Poppe’s setup is based on a market that has already started to rotate back into altcoins. His chart suggests $ARB is trying to build a higher base after a prolonged downtrend, with the recent rebound opening room for a push into the next resistance band.

Aerodrome Finance is built and fully operates on a single chain, which is Base. However, the team announced they would be launching a cross-chain decentralized exchange (DEX) in July, which is expected to improve revenue among other metrics.

From a broader market perspective, this brings uncertainty back into focus.

The U.S. has yet to respond, but recent price action suggests sentiment is already shifting, especially after reports of $760 million in insider activity, adding fuel to another round of manipulation-driven volatility.

For context, market participants spotted investors selling a combined 7,990 lots of Brent crude futures, a roughly $760 million bet that oil prices would move lower.

More notably, this positioning came just 20 minutes before President Trump’s announcement regarding the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

The result? As the chart shows, oil closed the day down 5.9%, slipping back to early March levels. Following the Strait of Hormuz headlines, this $760 million position therefore appears to have been highly profitable.

Notably, as these events unfolded, the crypto market also saw a spike in volatility, with some participants pointing to another “Friday manipulation” around the news flow.

In this context, the U.S.-Iran geopolitical narrative continues to add uncertainty, with markets reacting sharply to shifting headlines and positioning.

Naturally, the question becomes, does this volatility make the recent inflows into crypto temporary?
